Wait, since when did Altima take your title of the stupidest person on this forum Pleebo?

I mean, if you couldn't tell the obvious sarcasm without having somebody to hold your hand and tell you what a good job you are doing while you read it and afterwards, and then were told AFTERWARDs about the obvious sarcasm, then I don't think your title is in danger anytime soon.

Sarcasm isn't allowed on the internet. Everything must be taken as literal.

So when I say I'm scared about global warming I'm hiding in my basement watching An Inconvenient Truth on loop.

You know, it's kindof sad to have a parody clip from a TV show as part of your argument on an issue.

Plus,
obviously nobody is profiteering from creating fear

I used to collect pennies from the 1980's and sell them for 25c in elementary school as spider-warding tokens. My money-back guarantee stated that as long as the spider wasn't threatened, it wouldn't attack so long as you held the token.

I bought so many micro-machines with my profits. Even the sweet-as-*** Night Attack! playset.

Stupid people also happen to think they are not stupid, nor make stupid decisions. Intelligent people will on chance realize they did something stupid and own up to said moment of stupidity. Which is the crux of the problem. Kruger-Dunning tends to the be case more often than not.

I am not saying we are not crapping all over the Earth, we certainly are. I just get beyond pissed when people present a "report" to me, expect me to take their word for it because a bunch of PhDs worked on it, and word it in such a way that it is already proven fact. They pass this sh#t off to the masses who they know can't wade through or in most cases even comprehend the resources they cite. I am also kind of sick of professionals using Student's t test as though it is the holy grail of statistical hypothesis testing. Dear god...there are better more sophisticated tests out there.

That was beautiful.

Something tells me that a good portion of "global warming" skeptics are unlikely to reverse their stance regardless of what or how research is presented.

Do you feel the same way about reports that say global warming is a myth?

How should they go about reporting this to the masses in a way that you would accept as something more palatible?

It's more like people treating "studies" and "research" as fact, even though it is all conjecture.

It's like you saying that there is life on a different world within 40 light years away just by looking up in the sky. I'm sorry if I'm going to be skeptical with your "findings" if you don't give undeniable proof.

Send a sensory device the size of a small car to a planet 30 million miles away: "Yeah, that's cool. Why not?"

Discover previously unconfirmed elementary constituents of matter by smashing particles together at near light speeds: "Wow, science can do such interesting things!"

Describe and predict current and future climate deviations from baseline levels based on well-substantiated physical theory and supported by enormous amounts of observational evidence: "NOW HOLD THE *** PHONE SAVE THAT ***FOR SYFY MOVIES SCIENCE IS DUMB IT'S COLD IN MY ROOM THEREFORE POTATO"

I can see Pleebo carrying all of us stoopids on his shoulders, like atlas... except not in a tidy spherical mass but just a huge pile of writhing idiotic bodies trying to wrestle themselves free so they can fall into a pit of lava...

You'll never save me alive!!!!
