I've been looking for an answer for a wile, There's just so much to sift through in one of the massive BG or even AH gearswap threads that are 90% .lua critiques.

Is there anyway I can utilize the more robust alias system of spellcast and have it trigger with gearswap? Or is it impossible with the way they both send commands? As it is now, spellcast will send the command but gearswap seems to be blind to it.

Example of how I want it to work:

-Type //cure fluf
-Spellcast corrects it to /ma "Cure" Flufferkins
-Gearswap sees I'm curing myself and swaps my gear as per it's own rules.

Edit: Someone pointed me in the right direction. Apparently I'm daft and just need to use the new "Shortcuts" addon.

For anyone else who might need the answer.

Yes, Spellcast has been split up into three addons:
- GearSwap took over the gear changing engine
- Shortcuts took over the spell shortening/aliasing
- InfoReplacer took over replacing variables in text (like: /l I'm in %area)

Just curious, when did these changes take place?

About five months ago for GearSwap.

I hope I made myself clear, they did not replace Spellcast. It's still there and still being maintained (for now). They were simply Spellcast's functionality properly re-coded in Lua. So Spellcast still exists, but the goal is to get people to move away from it, since all of these things work better and more efficient than Spellcast ever did.

You were clear, thanks. I use gearswap, and don't plan on going back to sc.

I wasn't aware spellcast used gearswap though. I would imagine this greatly improved spellcasts performance.

It doesn't use it, which is why it doesn't improve its performance. Spellcast is a piece of ***and no one should be using it.

GearSwap. There are already boards that exchange GearSwap files just like for Spellcast (check the BG forums).
