The Supremes tackle birth control
If I needed any further confirmation that RFRA is a shitty law, it's that I'm not entirely sure Hobby Lobby doesn't have a claim here.

There's also the fact that being pregnant and giving birth is a pretty big deal regarding a woman's health. Phoenix.Amandarius said: » Birth control is for people that want to have sex for pleasure but do not want the actual consequences of sex to occur, pregnancy. Pay for it yourself. It is cheap. Second of all, yes. It's nice that you're willing to make my argument for me. While you view it negatively, I view it positively. We don't live in caves anymore, women are allowed to do what they want without your input kthx Don't talk all I am woman hear me roar, then be like butttttt I want my employer to pay for it for me. If you wanna be independent then don't be dependent. Big girls buy birth control. Garuda.Chanti said: » Sophie Tilgung said: » .... The Bible is Christianity's only physical connection to their deity. It 'documents' Gods deeds. You don't get to pick and choose what aspects of God from the Bible you want to worship and ignore the rest. Everyone does that. I do that. I don't keep kosher and have been known to wear mixed fibers. Really. It isn't just the evangelicals. It is so rare to follow all the prohibitions that people have written books about it. The Year of Living Biblically And the woman's version: A Year of Biblical Womanhood I also like how numerous Christians don't view Jesus as their Lord and Savior, according to the Bible. Y'know, because they use Leviticus to dispute gay marriage, which was nullified and replaced when their Savior was born. Jesus also healed a Roman Soldiers male love slave. Just because if men can have pleasure care coverage, women should too. Land of equality, right? Unless you're different.

And the terrible pun part also. Valefor.Endoq said: » Oh look another trollbait thread. . . Lakshmi.Zerowone said: » Cerberus.Pleebo said: » Better question, why doesn't everyone have fone on block? Hobby Lobby's argument seems so tenuous that I'm not even sure how this made it all the way to SCOTUS. On the other hand, it's another way to expand corporate rights so I guess there's my answer. Probably by using the same shady lawyer logic a'la the 14th amendment, that allowed corporations to be recognized as an individual. I for one welcome my feminists over lords. And as a terrible but useful man I can open jars of pickles in no time.

Four pages and no one has detailed exactly how a corporation can have religious beliefs. Any takers?

They can't which is why SB1062 was shot down in AZ. edit: There is a disassociation between the individuality and identity of the owner and board and the company itself, per: Santa Clara County v. Southern Pacific Railroad - 118 U.S. 394 (1886) and Pembina Consolidated Silver Mining Co. v. Pennsylvania - 125 U.S. 181 (1888) aka Corporate Personhood. Churches are considered a 501(c)(3). Therefor, corporations can have religious beliefs. Could Hobby Lobby or that other corporation with the non-rhyming name be considered such an organization?
