Phoenix.Amandarius said: »I'm a troll for saying that a nuclear dictatorship controlled by an insecure loose cannon is dangerous? You replied to that with insults but no counter argument? You are the troll, brah.
The reason North Korea still exists has more to do with a power struggle between the US and China more than it has to do with Pyongyang having a nuclear stockpile.
In reality North Korea would be yet another situation where after the smoke clears it'd take billions to reintegrate North Koreans into South Korean society, something we've seen play out with the reintegration of the Eastern bloc into Europe. South Korea stands to lose, China would see refugees and they'd both have to foot the bill.
So what's the point? Un can talk ***all day but he's only in power because China and the US will it. He has no cards in his hand other than scare Seoul with invasion, threaten light skirmishes and convince his people he's a deity worth worship.

Wake me up when NK modernizes their military. Then and only then could they be considered a threat. South Korea's planes cruise at NK's max speed.

He's not in Texas. Thanks for the stereotype though. It's nice to get a gauge on people's real feelings, no matter how inaccurate and crude. I like extreme stereotypes, I find them funny, they're not meant as something I actually think. Wow someone is angry lol. Your rage it confuses me! You're right on the first part I can't really claim to know the full stance as I'm only going off some articles I read. It still seems to impose an infringement on personal religious freedom whether or not there are a number of muslims that agree it is not necassary to wear one. The ones that do want to wear one should not be allowed to? You can't be a respectful muslim that just wants to live a peaceful life in a burqa? They can't be stopped for a number of reasons? Please enlighten my ignorant self. Puppet of my government? Living in Texas? Am I a republican now too? I may be ignorant about some things i'll admit that but overall no. I don't live in texas either lol. It is truely easy for you to throw out baseless insults about things you have no idea about lol. Sounds to me though more like you're ruled by emotion and have no grasp on what reality actually is. You really don't have much to say other than call me names do you? Edit: Also, if you're going to accuse someone else of ignorance you shouldn't speak about things that blatantly show your own. Well, the thing is, you aren't wrong on the base idea. It is wrong to forbid someone to wear a specific cloth, I'll agree on that. However, there is something that you miss and I'm not completely blaming you as this concept is something I've only seen in France so far (it does exist in other countries I'm sure, I've just never seen it, maybe in Belgium, kind of?). State and religion are two different things. France is a laïc country, religion is something personal. Yes, we do have mosques and churches, along with synagogues and so on. Yes, people have the "right of cult". You can express your religious feelings however you want in a closed space, or in front of said space (on your lawn, for example). The problem starts when we talk about work and school. In school, we do not want children to have any influence on them. If parents want their children to follow their muslim way, or catholic or whatever, it is their right/choice. School is never supposed to be a place where a kid is appealed by religion, this is the mind set fo the country we live in, and this is law. We do study the history of ALL religions (except maybe budhism, that's in higher levels of education I believe), accurately, from multiple point of view. The teachers aren't supposed to root for any of them, they are to be fair, each religion has to be fairly treated as it is a subject of history. Now, you have these muslim kids who are allowed to skip school during ramadan (I don't care about that myself, but it's unfair toward their overall scholarship and other kids who aren't muslims) and on top of that, wear religious stuff. This is against the law in the second case, any children wearing anythign related to religion, any of them, is required to take it off and put it in his pockets/bag. Burqa is merely a cloth in itself but one day, I can't remember well the incident that sparked the first issue with it, I just remember that a woman was wearing it and was asked not to. She refused, her right, I forgot if she was fired (right of the employer, dress code is a thing) or if she simply hid behind religion, but it went from this little conflict to: "we are against muslims/burqa". This is merely escalation. Back then, I literally lived among families of muslims and was even doing the ramadan with them while I'm not even muslim myself and I can tell you that everyone in the city laughed at this, some were even ashamed fo the woman's attitude, and then the journalists/politics, because the woman was going against rules and using religion as a shield. Then, people added the fact that the burqa can be something to hide weapons and so on, which was fueled by the insecurity that could be witnessed in other countries and in our own. This is merely a little incident blown our of proportion. As for the muslim/African countries, this wasn't done because of religion, it was a matter of territories. If you really want to give 2 "religions/races" that French people dislike for a reason or another (slightly or full force), jews and romes (east europe immigrants) are the ones to mention. Jews is because of history, romes are because of current days. Muslims are fine, though they are kind of a minority, so they will obviously be the target of some hate here and there, same as everywhere. "Can't be stopped for many reasons". Yes, indeed, it can't. Why? Well, simple: - America has the army domination, it is suicide to attack them. The same way, it is suicide to deny them too hard on a lot of things, they have to roam free to some extent (full extent more or less, see NSA and other ***). - Israel is protected by US, their freedom goes beyond theirs as US is a puppet of Israel anyway. As for proper explanations about this, people do it far better than me regularly in various documentaries and other analysis. There is a specific French guy who very often explains the reasons for what has been happening there ever since the state was created. - China is, well, they're the true masters. They already are #1 and we cannot avoid being swallowed by them in the future. It's all a matter of maths here, nuclear weapons aren't even in the formula. Forgive me for the lack of 20000 wikipedia/various websites links, as some people on these forums that know me can tell, I dislike giving everything on a platter. If I speak even a little about something, it's because I've paid attention to it even slightly, that's something I expect from anyone I talk to. Also, don't take what I say literally, it makes your argumentation/position poor. Bla bla "written things, hard to tell sarcasm" bla bla. Putting everything on a platter? You basically presented terrible example that you couldn't really even be bothered to remember what actually happened, pretty much said bigotry exists what are you going to do but lets get this straight we hate the jews and the gypsies more than the muslims!
How does wearing a cross or a burqa influence other kids in their decision to follow or not follow a religious way of life? It's almost like you're describing a society that not only has to worship inside the confines of walls but can't even display any kind of religious affilliation in public because thats somehow offensive or corrupting? I know when I look at a cross hanging from someones neck the faith just starts to build in me!
If you're going to try and make a point you should at least be able to recall what the point is or the story that you're going to try to use to make that point lol... Not only that, you're story amounted to a woman wanting to wear an outfit associated with religion at her work place.. she was told she couldn't (you didn't give a reason and couldn't even remember the outcome) and then just spouted nonsense about anger for burqas lol...
Now this is where I really laughed. America is the cancer that eats at the world but they're too strong for us to deal with so not only do we do nothing to stop them we actually support them in many of their actions! What does that say about your country? I feel a we surrender joke in there somewhere.
I'm still confused as to how Isreal even got brought up. Maybe it has to do with the whole Jew hating thing in France you brought up earlier?
China? The true masters? And you called me ignorant... China isn't #1 in anything beyond population right now. They're rise to the top is far from assured as well.
Well if I learned anything from talking with you its that you seem to really only pay attention to things very slightly as you put it lol. You really don't seem to know much of anything then try to cover that well go figure it out for yourself after you make a general comment. You should really be more careful not to show your own ignorance of global events (and it even seems like ones in your own country) when you want to call others out on it lol.
Don't worry though I won't make the mistake of taking what you have to say seriously because after reading that you really couldn't be.

What, you don't like our Celebrity President? Last 2 Presidents with a D next to their name were Celebrity Presidents, all fluff, no stuff.
Problem though is, those types are dangerous, as people are finding out too little too late.

You disagreeing with the president actually makes him look better in my book. That explains a lot then.
Never mind the ineptitude, the flagrant fraudulent activity, or the outright lying to the American people, you like him because certain people dislike him.
That makes perfect sense now! Does that also explain why you disliked Bush so much, because certain people liked him?

Does that also explain why you disliked Bush so much, because certain people liked him? I never said I liked him because you don't, hell I never even said I liked him only that he was ok... I did say that it makes him look better in my book because you disagree with him mostly because pretty much everything on a partisan level that comes out of your mouth is utter nonsense. Even when you make claims that have some sort of legitamacy you destroy any part of that legitimacy with the absolute and utter nonsense that you spew following that you know like using appearing on a talk show or golfing to show celebrity status which pretty much every president in the past 40 years has done lol (mostly for image control and reaching new/different audiences). So yes. Anyone that you disagree with, to me, makes them seem like they might have at least some common sense.
You really should read what someone writes down instead of displaying the conversation you made up in your head to defend a point that was never made...

Lets see if I can explain this in a way that even you might understand. First off, I never stated whether I liked or disliked the president. I could very well like him already and him being on the opposite side of your idiocy could very well lead me to liking him more. In order to backpedal though I would have to go back on my original statement. That would be for me to now say that you disagreeing with him actually does not make him look better in my book or that, in your delisional landscape, I originally said I liked him and now I'm trying to say that I don't. I'm not backing up from any position I have taken.
Your logic is flawed from the start anyways. You can dislike something/someone and something can happen that makes them look a bit better to you but you can still dislike them. Just like if you like someone and they do something that makes you think less of them you can still like them lol...

PARKER Edit:
YouTube Video Placeholder
Ever since I first left America for three years and realized how poorly people from other countries seemed to look at the good ol' USA, and how bad I think the political system has gotten, I've added the US presidency to my bucket list.
Every day I eat, sleep, lift, and study in an effort to some day put myself if a financial situation where I can acquire my name and secure my way to the presidency in a route quite different than a typical politician, though not unfamiliar to the game altogether. Name recognition is the route I'm after.
When I'm president I've thought of a few things I'd like to see changed, and open them up for debate, and maybe let some of you plebes alter the ideals of a future US president. In no particular order:
Esperanto Second Language classes starting in elementary:
Esperanto is a created language that's kinda simple to learn in comparison to others, and can be vaguely understood by some people who don't even speak it as it uses a lot of familiar roots and affixes to create words, has set pronunciations for all letters, and grammar rules that lack the exceptions seen in English. It's estimated by some that a native speaker of romantic languages would take roughly 150 hours to become proficient enough to communicate easily with the language, which is incredibly fast if you know anything about learning languages. It's culture neutral, and would help foster cultural exchanges and ease communications between Americans and Europeans and Central/South Americans. It can also help with the absorption of other languages, so instead of being an end in itself, it could be a means to help one become multilingual, something that's rare for most Americans.
National legalization and taxation of Pot:
Hopefully this one will change by the time I'm president and it'll be one less battle for me to fight. Legalization means less money spent fighting it and more money from taxing it. Decriminalization right now would save Americans as lot of money as is. I do not believe legalizing it will cause an epidemic because anyone who wants to try it will try it anyway because you can easily get it on most city street corners as it is. I know I don't want to smoke pot now and I won't smoke it when it's legal. It's already been legalized in Colorado and look how terrible that's gone, right? They're on track to generate 100mil in the first year of taxation, imagine even half of that from all 50 states.
Legalization of prostitution:
Arguably the most difficult of things to change with American society being so prudish. The idea here is the same as the legalization of pot. We license prostitutes and create legal areas for them to work in. I came to this idea after seeing how poorly average streetwalkers are treated and how they're hunted down by police. It can be decriminalized and taxed to generate money, and keep money from leaving the country on foreign "sexpeditions." The idea behind this is people who want to use prostitutes will use them, and this is a way to protect both the prostitute and the buyer with mandatory monthly screenings required for license, safe houses to protect from violence against either party, and less anxiety for all involved. Texas alone spends almost 8million dollars a year housing prostitutes in prison, and the industry itself pulls in up to an estimated 30 billion a year. That's one hell of a national source of income if taxed and licensed properly. It also help individuals too. People may not like it but some have to turn to prostitution to get by, and legalizing it can help consenting adults of legal age get the money needed to have a reasonable life. It goes along with one of my firm beliefs that what these people do with their bodies is none of your f*cking business.
Super PAC Busting and Corporations are Not people:
I will bust the sh*t out of any source of large scale, unlimited "donations" to politicians. Nothing will be anonymous on this issue and I will make damn sure something like this doesn't happen again in my lifetime. We've allowed these people to make it perfectly legal to buy off politicians, and that defeats the entire purpose of a representative democracy.
National Legalization of Gay Marriage:
Again, who the f*ck are you to tell someone who can and can't get married? It's as simple as that, live and let live. This is another issue I shouldn't have to worry about by the time I'm president, I hope.
National Weight Training Requirements for all Teenagers:
Requiring all teenagers to have classes in weight training is a great way to improve the shape of America from early on. It saves money in medical costs, is much safer than almost all sports Americans commonly engage in at high school, and does wonders for self-esteem. All beginners can see rapid gains in strength, and with that can be urged to continue. Striking at the age of puberty, the training can have the highest effect on young males with their almost freakish rate of growth.
Closing Tax Loopholes:
Cracking down on this is extremely important. People have come to see taxes as evil instead of a necessary part of government. With the way the current government works, I'm not surprised people distrust and hate taxes when they don't see as much benefit from them as they should and the wealthy pay a disproportionate amount. Closing tax haven and last in first out accounting loopholes, among many others, are things that must be stopped, it costs the American government over $100 billion a year.
Military Changes:
America doesn't need as large a standing army as it has. We could easily cut the number in half over time and not have to worry thanks to technological advances. Also, America will never again invade and occupy another country. It's costly, stupid, and makes people hate you even more.
Legalizing the Sale of Organs:
This one I can't really believe isn't a legal thing yet. Relying on the altruism of others is a fool's game. We have a shortage of organs needed and desperate people will turn to underground shady alternatives. Properly screening donors for an extended period of time removes the risk of "faulty" organs, gives donors time to think over the procedure and its consequences, and protects both parties. It also offers a final safety valve on your financial issues if the need becomes great enough. Once again, it offers people a choice of what to do with their lives that is no one else's business.
Those are just some of the things that are on my agenda. There are other things, but mostly just paradigm shifts instead of laws. Nothing will change if we don't change the views of the people in general. I want to help people see the government as something working for them, which is how it's supposed to be. I want to cut down on the litigious nature of the American people, by encouraging people to be less gigantic pussies and by simplifying all laws in general. I want to encourage the new generations to honor the spirit of a law more than the letter. I want to encourage tolerance of all people regardless of skin color, sexual orientation, nationality, religion (or lack thereof), or profession. I want to encourage the American people to stop looking for the easy way and extol the value of actual hard work. I want to make people realize that we are not all equals, but we all deserve basic and equal rights and opportunities, that while we may not all make ourselves into the next Bill Gates, Russell Wilson, or Tom Hanks we all have the same chance to make something of ourselves by working hard. I want to kill the new almighty god above all: The American Dollar.
I want to encourage these things by leading by example and making use of the indomitable human will we can all possess.
So come at me f*ckers! What would you do if president? What do you agree or disagree with?
Edit: some typos.
