Is the new disney movie crossing the line?
The biggest issue I have is that this is another Disney movie where they try to explain that the main female antagonist of a previous story used to be good at heart, but turned to evil due to being "wronged" by a man in her past.
Forget this movie though, I'd rather see someone attempt to tackle the original Sleeping Beauty and see how the public would flip out over the story....you know the one that had a ditsy princess, lies, adultery, rape, and attempted cannibalism. Yes the original was shocking. Some of the others when you trace them back are equally as bad.
I just think they should stop making movies and get back to working hard on Kingdom hearts 3 then they can go back to movies lol but that is just me
Disney helped create whole generations of furre subculture, rabid anthropomorphic fandom, and questionable fetishisms...
![]() ...and we're just now concerned with subtle nuanced meaning and indoctrination on impressionable yoots? :p where's the problem? you didn't see little kids rooting for freddy kruger after watching nightmare on elm street. quite the contrary they were terrified of him.
Of course, Disney just had to make Maleficent hot as hell.
Whenever these topics come up, all I can think of is Kevin Smith's Dogma protest story:
Naughty language That's one of my favorite Kev-O stories. That and the long, convoluted answer to the question, "What was it like working with Bruce Willis?"

I think he has a few additions to BW and Prince stories because the DVDs come out and they watch them and comment to Kevin, and then he just talks about them more. But yea...there will always be those weak minded individuals that sees everything as propaganda or mass information corruption when its simply art. Perception is a *** like that :( Masekase Hurricane said: » Yes the original was shocking. Some of the others when you trace them back are equally as bad. At least I've heard that, I never bothered to verify it. 'cause kids are not desensitized to prayer or moments of silence in school or anything?

(Thanks to Ina) YouTube Video Placeholder And quickly quite a few people went to the internet to voice their opinioins. Notably this conversation back and forth What do you guys think? There is a lot of powerful imagery in that trailer; is Disney taking another step into desensitizing our kids towards sorcery and witchcraft? Is this just harmless entertainment? Simply put if you or your children easily influenced into trying things you see on tv/movies ect. then you probably shouldn't go watch anything period as you can probably put some kind of political and or propaganda type spin on the themes of just about any movie, tv series, book and even music. Saying Disney caused your kid to take up witch craft is the same damn thing as saying your kid went and shot up his school because he was playing too much GTA 5. Devil's advocating the point of video games and violence, they have maturity ratings and ultimately the parent should be aware if they have access to such media and take measures to control said access if they think its a problem. (although its a total BS scapegoat irresponsible parents use) It is going to be PG or 12. If you don't want your kids to watch it you don't have to let them. Any other adults show them it just sue them. That's how we do it now isn't it lol
wouldn't mind learning warp in rl tbh
Well, at least some ppl have common sense in this world. There is a reason there is a rating system for movies/TV/video games. Its for the parent/guardian to follow upon. Its the Tools needed for Tech-savvy environment but, its the parent responsibility to use these tools.
Unfortunate that there are ppl who think movies/TV/video games are real life and can't differentiate the two. So some cause an uproar on BS stuff like this. because they don't know how or completely ignorant to the tools. Usually its to get the brat to quit whining and embarrassing you in the store because you said "no" so, you cave and buy what he/she wants just to shut him/her up. hmm... reward for bad behavior. ppl wonder whats wrong with society. back in the mid 20th century, ya got yer butt whooped for acting out like that! guess what. it works! not saying to beat the child to oblivion. 1 whack on the rear with your hand will get the point across. don't grab the ping-pong paddles for this. (lesson learned early in life... check) Its called Pain Sensory Learning. Its so easy, a caveman can do it. (they actually started it, just didn't know what to call it back then.) If your getting butt-hurt over a movie, then don't bring your kids to watch it. Parents take responsibility for your content you kids are exposed to. My daughter 13. her and i play CoD MW3. I've explained the content if she has any questions or i bring up advice. its called Parental Interaction. and here is a secret... it works. Personally, i'm old enough to remember Sleeping Beauty anime film. This is just a flip on the view of "the bag guy" side of Sleeping Beauty. So therefore this trailer will get: 2 old guys thumbs up. If ya think this trailer/movie is bad content. throw out your TV and grab a board game, preferably "Candy Land". And, don't play UNO. That is a creative language game that will be later explained by you to the school principal. (lesson learned... check.) so what i'm saying is. Step up, be the parents. and make the choices for your own households. To watch or not to watch... that's not a difficult question. go with gut feeling and quit waiting for someone else to give/hound you the answer based on their views in their households. besides if ya find this film offensive in any way. stay home so we don't have to hear ya in the theater complaining. He called out to her, but she seemed insensible, as if in a trance. As he contemplated her many charms, he suddenly felt his blood course hotly through his veins. The prince lifted her in his arms and carried her to a bed, whereon he gathered the first fruits of love while she slept on. When he was through, he left the princess, and returned to his own kingdom, where, in the pressing business of his realm, he thought no more of the incident. The princess slept on for nine months, and when the nine months were up she gave birth to two beautiful infants, a boy and a girl. Throughout her pregnancy, the princess, whose name was Talia, had been attended by two fairies who now placed the infants at their sleeping mother's breasts. One of the children, unable to find the mother's nipples, sucked on Talia's finger, loosening the poison splinter that had lodged there when she pricked it on the forbidden spindle. The princess waked and christened the babies Sun and Moon. Some time later, the prince returned to claim Talia and the children. There is only one problem. The prince is already married. His wife – an evil woman with cannibalistic tendencies – learns of her husband's infidelity and conspires to kill Talia and the infants. She invites the princess to her castle and secretly instructs the cook to slay the children, telling him to chop them up and serve them to her husband in a stew. But the cook cannot bring himself to do such a terrible deed. He hides the children and substitutes a lamb dish in their stead. Convinced that the children have been disposed of, the wife turns her attention to Talia. While her husband is off on a journey, she orders her servants to build a bonfire in the castle courtyard and to throw Talia into the flames. Just as the heroine is about to be put to death, the prince returns to discover his wife's sinister plan. He is overjoyed to find Talia still alive and recues her from the flames, but is horrified to learn that he has unwittingly devoured his own children. "Alas!" the heartbroken prince moaned. "Then I, myself, am the wolf of my own sweet lambs." He turned to his wicked wife and said, "Ah, thou renegade ***, what evil deed hast thou done? Begone, thou shall get thy just dessert." And thus saying, he commanded the wife to be thrust into the flames which had been prepared for Talia. As the evil woman twisted in the fire, the cook told the stricken prince that his children were still alive. "They have been spared," the cook informed him, hurrying off to retrieve Sun and Moon from their hiding place. The two children rushed to their parents and clung to them in a joyful reunion. The prince took Talia to be his wife, and everyone lived happily ever after. Moral of the story: Disney is secretly turning kids to Judaism. So they can work in Hollywood as adults.
I think people are looking way into things, looking for some hidden reason to bash a movie/disney for any reason.
looks like some high budget live adaptation of sleeping beauty to me. can't be worst than Kristen Stewart as snow white volkom said: » can't be worst than Kristen Stewart as snow white I liked the porn version of Snowwhite more. |
