Since I'm not really playing anymore, can someone active clue me in on what the current best options are (and second best) for the basic sets?

PDT/DT, Melee/TP, WS?

Planning on updating the guide, and want to make sure I'm not missing anything from the gear I've been browsing from the updates.

I'll post a variety of sets that i use in the form of copy/paste from my individual window macros if you guys dont mind? i could even post specific benefits that set has over another at a given time. but ive never seen someone do that and dont wanna do it if you wouldnt read it.

Do it Buka you legend!!

I have not been playing at all myself the last few months but I used to spreadsheet his gear and it was always decent and looking at recent stuff I don't think much would have changed.

I'll go through the new gear and throw together some proposed sets once I have time to put them into the DPS spreadsheets. May take me a week though since I'm busy atm.

Here's what I use, doubt they're optimal, but they work. For PDT set, all Cizin is 4% pdt-, including feet, which I haven't figured out how to add. D:

ItemSet 314154ItemSet 314155ItemSet 304556ItemSet 314397

Those are generally what I was thinking, with some different bodies for TP sets, and ofcourse varying high/low accuracy sets. I'd probably also rework the MDT set a bit. Thanx for the post, that definitely makes it easier on me!

Also, going to be really exited when they finally update Burtgang.

Actually I'm not finding much wrong with those sets beyond maybe swapping out the Ammo for PLD TP.

That and I'd just use Cizin legs over Affronter's cuisses in the Magic down set.

Could also probably make a "pure magic down" set that doesn't incorporate so much wasted -DT, changing out Laerdar helm/body for Cizin for increased MDT and magic evasion (since you're going to be capped on MDT with Aegis/Shell and minimal -DT).

Anyone else have any comments? I can update the guide this week.

You're well over cap on your MDT set you could scrap that body and head same for the PDT iirc you should be capping without Laeradr even before Seekers imo neither of those 2 pieces were necessary or optimum. Also why the shadow ring in your PDT build?

ItemSet 311071
ItemSet 305322
ItemSet 311073
Sharur+Realmrazer outdoes Bura+Req by a good 10%~15% unless you're fighting something that takes halved blunt dmg.

Guess I could put HP or something in PDT- set for 2nd ring, just tossed in something randomish since it hits 50% w/o another ring, unless you can think of anything else I'd put in that slot. Cizin body/head are so ugly though :x But yea, that'd be better, would hit -87.5% with Aegis (95), Twilight, Dring, Ogier's feet, and Shell V.

Being able to get around 150 magic evasion/resist before applied bar spell would go a long way to nullifying any magic damage. Not that Aegis Plds had anything to worry about in the Magic damage department.

Thanx for the input everyone.

With 230 magic evasion there's no need to break out Aegis on anything that's not over lvl 110 most likely.. As for higher and new content stuff, I'm assuming the mob level and magic accuracy will be so high that Magic Evasion sets (even with corresponding bar spell) won't do much good. But perhaps I'll be wrong.

Would be interesting to try out. Could have the magic immunity of an Aegis Pld while keeping the the physical resistance of Ochain.

Anyone here try soloing Pandemonium Warden yet? I was thinking with the defense changes the total damage of the adds would be non issue.

And you could full time Ochain instead of Aegis due to magic evasion/level differences.

So at that point it's just being weary of some of the bad moves, which should be able to countered by fealty/sentinel/well timed bashes/fast kills (and some remedies).

So I was looking at the Rdm Solo Kirin thread and watched Coder fight PW on pld with a quad boxed whm, brd, and thf.

Looking at the video, I was thinking a decent Pld/blu could probably solo PW, and I started thinking about what kind of set I'd want to use.

I came up with the following set that puts me near 200 magic evasion (should be near immune to all magic the lamps throw at you), keeps you at 50% PDT, -2% crit hit, massive stat boosts, 22% haste, 100% block rate and 545 defense before buffs/food.

Mostly just taking advantage of the stat/bonus/magic evasion vomit and -PDT on Cizin set.

ItemSet 314573

With each Cizin piece having -4%PDT.

Can't get Cizin feet to load..

Let me know if ya'll think of any changes to this "hybrid solo set."

Obviously this set is really maximized once Burtgang is given an upper iLvL and you can probably get away with using Buram til then (depending on how much damage you're taking).

PDT earrings x2, you could swap the back slot to Shadow mantle then or Letalis/Atheeling etc. Or swap the earrings so you can equip Zoran belt to cap haste, I just dont see those earrings doing much good even in a hybrid build when you're uncapped on haste.

Edit: Nice build though, those converts dmg to mp pieces are indeed useful Ethereal/Brutal and Flume may not be giving you cap haste but the extra mp may be needed on occasion. So you're not wrong doing it that way.

True.

I guess you can make a sub-set that swaps in AF3 helm, ethereal, and Flume if/when MP becomes an issue.

I don't think shadow mantle would be useful in this situation however, so the best swap you can probably make is earrings -> PDT and belt -> haste.

Here we go:

ItemSet 314604

Swapped out Cizin body for Augmented Miki, Earrings for PDT, and Belt for Zoran. Nets you 26% haste, around 200 magic evasion, 50% PDT, 100% shield block against anything lower than lvl 115.

With some spellcast/self set locks if you're having MP problems:

ItemSet 314605

Should be able to solo AV/PW with the above sets and /blu.
