But yeah, I'd like to join the same server as some AH bros. We were considering either Kefka or Ultimecia, though myself and my fiance were leaning toward the latter because it would be less crowded and has a cooler name.
Also, Ultimecia/Griever had the best boss themes ever. And Ultimecia is the only female FF last boss.
Ultimecia doesn't bother me tbh. I wouldn't want to go on Sephiroth, you can imagine the tards on that server.
Ex-death would be cool too. but yeah, I doubt these will be the final names seeing as XI had a Kefka in beta.
But let me know the planned server when it's chosen. Open beta in a few days anyways. So I should officially add you to the list then?
Would be nice to have another serious elitist to argue with about everything >.>
Yeah go for it lol. I'm planning to get the relic equivalent in XIV this time >.> (hopefully there will be one) And I'm hoping to not waste two years on Maat's Cap this time >.>

So I logged into beta yesterday and there was a big update and like all my characters were gone. So I made a lancer...
And at lvl 1 just starting it had almost as much mp as my lvl 11 mage I had before and almost twice as much hp

All I know is when I start I'll have no idea what I'm doing. I think I'm starting in Ul'dah.
Be cool to see some AH bros in the equivalent of the dunes getting massacred by goblins.

Yup, that's what I thought. I saw a really cool picture of an overview of Ul'dah from a cliff. I love the architecture of the town too.
I think popularity wise most people will start in Gridania though, then probably Limsa Lominsa followed by Ul'dah. It's looking to be the Bastok equivalent.

Anne wants to start in Gridania also but her laptop is too nooby to run FFXIV so she won't be starting at the same time.
I don't want to be from Gridania because it looks like it would have a bunch of bugs and stuff. D:
Honestly to me it looks like it would be a cool place to live in real life. It's almost in a Zi'Tah equivalent which looks awesome to me, but more comparable to Kashyyyk from Star Wars.

Limsa Lominsa was straight out for me after learning to get to the main land you need to take a boat.
First experience on a ferry in XI will always haunt me.

Same lol. I just remember getting the ferry from Selbina to Mhaura with a friend and it was night... Ghosts... we stayed in the belly of the ferry trying to avoid aggro and it didn't work :(
Good times though, that game has so much nostalgia :D

SE spent 8 years creating beautiful (For its time) locales with well-designed layouts and fitting mob types.
Now they just recolor old areas and throw a mish-mash of mobs in. Yovra in red-la-theine? What the *** theme is that supposed to be? The reason Luminians were cool is because they matched their areas, not because they were mobs with bright colors.

It makes sense if you think about it. Lately they have been focusing on making people want to play more with minimum amount of content/effort.
Hey look guys how about we just recolor some zones change mobs around AND you still will want to play there hours a day when you were bored with other stuff.
Hey instead of buying new weapons how about you spend rl days making something super uber.
While of course making all this super easy to do just time consuming

I actually agree. I love the music in Abyssea, but the mobs are a bit silly. I would have preferred more of a story on the Abyssea area too. so far we've been given a really good EXP camp and some decent pieces of armour for £10.00
I expect more from XI expansions/add-ons.

Don't *** about reskins until you see wtf they did to Dark Falz, De Rol Le and the "expansion" areas.
in the expansion to PSU, there was only 1 new boss skin, De Rol Le... and Dark Falz Form 1 has that skin and Form 2 has Dark Fakis Form 2 skin.
EVERYTHING in that game was just a god damn reskin of the original except for like maybe 5-6 new mobs and 1 new boss.

Well I wasn't speaking of the exp camps, I know those are plentiful and all that.

Since we all can't be on the same linkshell in game, this can be our cross server linkshell thread.
Like most linkshells, it can be pretty dead at times. Other times it's full of intense conversations about either rl, gear, goals, pokemon or anything else you want to contribute.
We can cover any sort of topic at all, within reason of the forum rules. No real main topic, just a bunch of FFXIAH friends/people coming on and discussing random things.

Kungfu is the LS nutjob, spouting super random things that are usually sexist, until Savvy or Alyria comes into the room. Then he's a classic case of sexual harrassment. Rumaha is also true to the second part; we're wondering about his sexuality though.
Daj is Ludoggy's gay lover. Not much else is known about this Asuran. Tairo is kinda new, but since is a female and Alyria's lesbian lover, she fit right in real quick.
Celene(F) and Rowland(M) are more of the shyer members, but often say things that are witty, have a good pun and sometimes cause three page discussions. Celene hates when people hit on her. It doesn't stop them from trying.
Krizz is just social and likes to kill time here during work Tbest is about the same, except tends to be a douche to guys and affectionate toward girls.
Alyria is the most social female, gets groped a lot without provoking it by others, and Tairo ends up stabbing people for it. Cai is just a barrel of lols, I might be gay for him. If I wasn't straight.
Not sure about Citag, s/he's new. Kiriyu is just an in-out kinda person. Says one thing every three days that every guy makes a big fuss over. Ludoggy gets really defensive since she's asian and underage (might be 18 now).
Artem is the wayward soul that makes you ponder the meaning of life by constantly reminding us life can suck. But he deals, and so do we. About the same for Savannah, except people are more "AWH!" to her because of a vagina involved.
Dasva is the ex military man (as is Krizz but this doesn't apply to him) who hates the world and plots a way to destroy most of it.
Number2 is kinda like a mix between Cai and I; never bashes, likes to laugh and has odd avatars. His current suits a lot of the convos this LS gets into. Barti is most well known for his moustache. He gives mousatche rides for a fee. I'm missing a few people but whatever. CARRY ON!
