You don't have a lot of things.
It's ashamed we lost the 'taking you under my wing' concept we used to have hundreds of years ago before proper schooling. If you wanted to work in a field, you found someone and apprenticed under them. Now day even if you could do that, you won't get hired without legal proof.
Instead of just having all the jobs and those people teaching their trades, now we have entire job fields where your job is just teach people that field. :/

And there are programs out there that you can do that will give you credit for the work you were doing. Some of my friends in the navy did that. So that when they got out it would be like they were any other (insert whatever job they were doing) for a few years out in the real world. Even if said job usually required college. Even though it was actually easy (just have your boss sign the forms that you did stuff) most didn't bother/know about it lol

Well there's internships and such, but I meant in the sense the way it worked in history. I'm sure there may be a few select jobs that still carry that out, but in general you mostly need to go to college. We are progressing, but it feels like we are losing a bit of ourselves along the way.

I'm... well I don't want to say sentimental about the past, I didn't live in it... I can't think of the word I want to use, but I respect it. The only modern day thing I can honestly say I would miss if I was thrust into history, would be the internet. Back in the past I'd have to troll in real life and be at the risk of stabbings for my ***lol.

my friend went into the army for that stuff.
he was all excited to go through basic and get more fit.
yeah that didn't happen, he couldn't get his running times better because they didn't run them as much as they should.
pretty much basic training on the very easy setting.
sad that it gets devolved that far because they want people to join.

usually you learn all the ***, and then you go under an apprentice-ship.
pretty much anything working with your hands goes through this.
with lawyers and ***they just have a shitty internship where they just have to be everyones ***.
but that doesn't really change after they become a lawyer, they just get a lot more cash for it.
