I rocked XP right past vista, but when W7 was out and stable I upgraded it. My old pc would have froze with just 2 gigs on any OS with the ***I used to do, multiboxing with multiple tabs ect. You really should get 4+ gigs at least.

Only using 4 on this laptop, but I can upgrade to 8. I was thinking about moving up slowly, starting with 6 for now. Going straight to 8 would be a bit pricey all at once. >.<

Mine now is nowhere near perfect I only get 1800 on FF14 benchmark, but it is a nice desktop that only cost $800. I ordered it off iBuyPower.com. Granted, you can get the same ***prolly for 600ish if you hunt, but I just cba to do that ***and custom build it, I just had it ordered with the ***I could afford.
Jaerik needs to make us a Loli Group and give us Pink bars. :(

Don't let the lolclockspeed fool you, it can run up to 2.68 which is plenty for what I do with it.
7 only requires 2GB RAM iirc? Unless I'm confusing it with lolVista.
Also, i7's are quad-cores in laptops by default.

Vista is like 2 I think, which is a lot for an OS. W7 I think is 1. Don't quote me though.
I really regret not getting a quad core now, so bad. I went with the duocore cause I got a higher speed and heard no one is utilizing quads properly atm.
Nowadays its an issue of multi-cores not being completely utilized. Still not sure if even the XIV Beta takes full advantage of them. Time will tell I suppose. I intentionally ran a shitload of things to test out CPU usage on this thing and I think the highest I even hit was around 25%. Not like I actually used all the crap I had open at once though on any given day.

I don't have crossfires yet, just the ability to install them, but wtf. Are you saying ppl with dual cards will only get use of one or?
Also I'd wait then and see if anything changes before it's officially on the shelves, THEN you can upgrade accordingly.
It's best to just wait and see how the real thing works. But it worries me based on Jaerik's lecture on dev team vs live team ya know? The folks who work on the core system and how the software functions with whatever console/system its on go to their next project and very few stick around for the game while it's up and running.

It's all about efficiency(money), not quality. Just enough to keep the subs. :(
Edit: I forget who, but someone said their 2.0ghz CPU got a 3k+ score, I'd say W7+RAM and then worry about CPU after. No way you got less than 2.0
Luckily for me it seems I'll be sticking around in XI for awhile still. Such a shame too, cause I had high expectations for XIV, and from the look of things it's getting more and more grim.

I just quit ffxi. I'm bored now, but it stressed me out too much. It's a job in this stage, not a game to me. It's good that I'm done, will always miss it as it was my first mmorpg. Just got a weird connection to it. Gonna have to make sure Samuraiking or at least SK is plastered on my gravestone when I die. >_>
I'm super *** bored. Poupee has been messaging me and I at least wasn't bored but I somehow made her mad and she logged off on me earlier. :x

I'm kinda just building a mini-empire of gil and NM drops for myself since the time I have to play isn't conducive to gaining levels or doin much of anything with other people.

Nah, I quit and just gave my character to a friend. He always loved my SAM and my pld/war which is his jobs are better geared, so he will have lots of fun on it. More fun than I would if I was still playing.
I'm sentimental, logically I should have got a nice grand off it, btu the thought of some *** or RMT on Samuraiking just makes me ill.
