I'm getting bored, there's no drama, no wonder I don't come here often. :/
Needs more fighting, derailing and ***. There's no other decent threads atm though either... usually there's tons of stupid ***being said that can be ripped apart, but most of the other threads are just average discussion ***... I've had to resort to *** helping ppl with logic and facts, do you know how much this hurts me?! D:

I'm idly toying with the idea of handling ratings like the site LittleGreenFootballs does, a contentious political blog which still manages to stay really civil.
Basically, the rating score for a post is visible to everyone, but the poster can click on their own post's score and see who rated them up or down. Anon posters would necessarily be barred from rating.
This still allows the benefits of a rating system while removing the absolute anonymity, as habitual rate-downers will quickly be called out for it.

I like this idea. Rather than having their name blown in the open publicly they can be settled with personally by the poster instead of making a potential shitstorm.

What was the point of the rating system in the first place though? It doesn't actually do anything but make ppl mad who can't handle it. Ratings are always brought up by a random retard in almost every thread.

Actually you are the one who brought it up, but I wasn't directing it at anyone. If you check any thread on this site that's got aboot 10+ pages, there will be someone crying over ratings, might as well do away with them if they only cause ***like that.
