Well I'm bored.. Guess I'll do, dare I say it.... Campaign Battle
Ugh, okay I've decided that mages are too much of a pain in the royal *** to take care of without having a way of funding them outside in a decent manner. So I will be leveling my kitty's thief for farming purposes then hopefully I can play my favorite job with her til I get bored enough to work on my taru.
Props to ANYONE who started out as a mage class and kept going with it despite the struggles. Perhaps all these melee classes have me spoiled.

Wow, turned out to be my lucky night. Logged in and made my outpost trip to run to Jeuno and Panzer Percival was standing right there unclaimed and I got myself a Neckchopper finally ^_^

I know THF is meh in parties but I don't mind seeking and FoVing my heart out. Just means I have plenty of tabs to augment random pieces for my benefit ^_^
Luckily I did pretty awesome when I did party. My full contact DEs did 900-1500 on colibris depending on how lucky I was.

Was rather troublesome/difficult no? I just have a hard time bulldozing through mobs with my MP management and taru HP and keeping up with spells and fame to get them ARGH.
Was much easier when I could just plow through mobs without even so much as denting myself as Monk and Samurai.

Really? I *** died to the level 1 mandragora because I ran out of MP nuking it (*** somehow resisted my spells) and my melee swings missed 99% of the time and when I finally got the last hit on him, he poisoned me when I was at 2 HP and I freakin died D:

You need to try and stay out of distance.. :x Sometimes I suck at it myself.
Yeah, I never quite mastered the bind/nuke technique yet. On my original tarutaru mage I got BLM and SCH to level 30ish or so mostly from solo, but I sucked hard at keeping the damn thing away from me while I nuked. I always had horrible timing with the crowd control spells and they'd run up and interrupt me, and I'd lose my composure which meant certain death. Couldn't solo anything beyond a tough either -.-;
But with the exp adjustment to EP & DC there's no point in it anymore. Much more efficient to just blaze through EPs/DCs than bother with EMs/Ts. Hence why I <3 FoV.

You know, if only SE had a mix of logic with a dash of common sense you'd think they would apply the exp adjustment to ALL mob difficulties instead of screwing over that whole middle field of EM/T. I remember when Duoing those were as easy as soloing EP/DCs but so much more fun.

Best/most fun group I ever had was a merit party in Lufaise meadows on Abraxxas roc birds. We had: PLD, SAM (me), MNK, BLM BLM RDM.
Literally little to no downtime at all. Blazed through those things on darkness SC, two well nukes for the MB and the mob was down in no time. PLD barely got dented.
Exp might not compare to modern day colibri parties but I had a *** blast playing the game the way it was meant to be played on mobs that under most circumstances should rape you.

Funny story. I tried convincing a merit group a friend of mine had assembled into going back to Lufaise since bird/mammool camp was full as usual, and everyone reluctantly agreed; and we failed hard. Those birds raped the crap out of us. Couldn't get enough damage on them on time thru WS use for the tank to stand a chance.
Was pretty embarrassing but funny. Made me think to myself "Where did we *** up? I used to take these down like nothing in the CoP days..."
Yeah Windy is my favorite for starting a character. Huge difference between DD and mage. Im a noob blm. Stun is my friend.

Aye, adding another partner, even for a fling wild night isn't for everyone. Best to stick to what you can both be comfortable and agree on. But don't be too hard on yourself. There's a fine line between being confident in yourself and being an arrogant, self-absorbed ***. You'll know when you get too close to falling off the balance beam.
