I leveled 54-57 WHM over the weekend. This XP needed is killer. I dread seeing the XP at higher levels. Also got DNC to 37. Izabella hit 39MNK.
Where would be a good place to duo at 37/39?
I also pretty much have a monopoly on yellow curry buns +1 (individuals, anyway) and tonosama rice balls. Barely anyone else has sold the rice balls over the last week.
With the rise in SAM, how come the market isn't being flooded with the riceballs? Is it because it's mostly being used as a sub now?

As I understand, because rice balls are crap for SAM since you can get better stats with kotes + pizza.

Even with the bonus from having both pieces of SAM gear that give riceballs double effect?

Pizza is a pain in the *** to make. A LS mate asked me about it so I researched the recipe and ingredients. It's just not worth it. Not much profit per pizza and they don't stack.
If you use the head, you lose 5 haste that you could get from Turban.
If you use the hands, that's 20ATK you "lose" from gear and pizza would give the same ATK as a rice ball when capped.
It's good for a Double Attack Build on SAM/WAR, I would guess, but outside of that not much. You also get no accuracy, which is all the rage.
Edit: totally agree on not making pizza. Not worth it at all, but everyone else seems to love making it for cheap.

I did message one person that bought riceballs from me and he added me to his friends list for when he needs more.
Honestly, you're fishing is level 27; level it to 30 and start catching gigant squids. With advanced support, you're tier II to HQ squid sushi, which is pretty much the most amazing gil I could find.
Edit: Also, with a minnow as your lure you can catch bluetail which you can HQ into Courier Carrier, which is like pure gil.

hit fishing 28 last night. Had a bad night and only got .5 skillups out of 12.5 stacks of bait.
I just recently got raw fish handling, so I'm about to get into the sushi market.
Edit: I've been testing the food market in general recently. I've made coeurl subs, yellow curry buns, mithkabobs, melon pies, and tonosama rice balls all over the last week and a half.
I deem .5 skillups a good day lol.
On a decent day, I can walk out with 20 squid or more. I've walked out with 50, but that was because I tossed every non-squid out to not wear my stamina down. It really adds up quickly though. The only crappy part is the initial for wasabi.
Edit: Keep that up and find your niche. Good that you're experimenting. I don't do sushi unless I catch my own fish. That's my niche, breaking the cookie cutter mold just a little :X

Well the other day I gained 2 fishing levels in one day. I usually get at least a .1 skillup per stack of bait.
It's just been so long since I last majorly crafted stuff to sell. I have a synth I use and just NPC the results. It's not as fast as say selling 5 stacks of subs in one day, but it's fairly quick and doesn't rely as much on the AH. Sushi is also one of the main reasons I'm leveling fishing.
I didn't even start off fishing to do Sushi. By nature, crafting is what I do. Sushi just kind of came with it lol.
I also like the NPC synths. I've got a couple of secrets holed up. There's one I may try out when leveling fishing soon on a skillup fish.

Leveling SAM has made me truly question SE's sanity: why would anyone be fighting Demons as a level 5 job? Warding Circle, I'm looking at you...
