Three weeks? It'd take a day to fix the door and five windows unless you had to order them. Painting takes two days, max -.-
I used to answer the door naked for church people and then tell them I don't believe in god, they freak out after I tell them my theory on how Mary got pregnant and leave.

It's ***, landlords around here know they can play games like this, because so many places here are going condo, and even less allow dogs, so they know it's pretty much their way or the highway...

They can't make you pay rent for another month if you're not living there. Especially if you gave them written in a timely fashion. I was a bad tenant in my younger years so I went through this stuff before. Most states require a 30 day notice, but most landlords let it go if you found a person to fill your place. It's up to the landlord to refurbish and withhold your deposit if they have evidence that you were negligent. They can charge more, but most suck it up and just take the deposit, but for them to say you gotta pay another month cause they aren't done fixing/cleaning the place for the next tenant is their loss.

Well yeah, I'm not paying for July, I'm paying for August. The point is, they told me I could move in starting Saturday, July 25th, I made plans to have everyone coming tomorrow, and now they're trying to tell me I can't move in because they didn't get it ready for us. But the place has been sitting since the end of June (I looked at it 3 weeks ago), so WTF??
I mean, granted I'm having a friend come over with a box truck that belongs to his Father in Law, but still, what if I had been renting a Uhaul? I'm supposed to be like, "Oh Uhaul my new landlord aint ready yet, so I'll just pick up the truck Monday instead?"

Not only that but I had a gang of peeps coming over tomorrow. Peeps that will be busy after tomorrow.

I'd try to find a different place and get my deposit back. That just tells you they're jackasses and won't care about your problems. Sounds like they're the ones that try to find one little thing wrong to keep your deposit just to make the money.

That lol. From first hand experience. Early problems with the place just mean problems downt the line. I cant wait to get moved out of my place, 1 more month to go!

I think I'm just boned, honestly. Took me months to find this place as it is...there ain't a whole lot of apartments out there that allow dogs, and even less that allow Boxers. Which is HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE, honestly...I've had dogs and cats my whole life, and cats are SOOOOOOO much more destructive then dogs are, but whatever...
Anyways, yeah, took me months to find this place, have 1 week left in my current place...I'm just gonna have to suck it up. I just can not *** stand unprofessional ***like this, ya know? You tell someone that a unit is gonna be ready on a certain day, you make sure it's ready on a certain day. I could understand if a pipe burst, or a fire occurred, or something like that that is an extenuating circumstance, but this is just blatant feet dragging as far as the maintenance team goes at this place and the property manager is completely unconcerned...

***. Last dog I had destroyed a loveseat, my bed mattress and 3 pairs of shoes. My 3 cats have at worst puked on the carpet a few times, nothing a little deep cleaning can't fix.

Yep, you just need the right chems. I take back my previous statement. Worst my cats have done is pissed on the bed but that's cause I was out of town for a few days and they were NOT happy.
