Big game comes out and MS finally figured a way to detect the mods. So with this release of CoD: MW2 they did their scan to catch a good portion of the modded boxes and fried them. Now the OP of that thread was just pointing out something of interest that modded boxes are not invisible.
MS did the same thing when Halo 2 came out and my xbox got the hammer from it.
Modding my original xbox was fun and cool. I was able to stream movies through it before the 360 even came out. That was my wonder machine for deployments also.

Install a chip that bypasses the security checks to run illegal copies.
Also does numerous of other things to "improve" the usefulness of the machine.
Ryd's example is more of using larger hard drives that are not normally offered for the console. Say 250GB is the highest for 360 so people may want to install a 500GB instead.

Seems pretty ridiculous to be honest. Going to affect a lot of Final Fantasy XI players I imagine? Suddenly feeling a little more grateful for being semi-afraid of Console gaming!

It may or may not. Really don't know unless there's bots you can install on 360s because of the modding. Either way it seems that this time MS did a little more than just block the console from connecting to XBL so even after the burn the console is useless. This is what I'm reading from that thread.

The winters here can be a little similar to the midwest.. but not really.

Well I'd like to have a couple years of snow-free winters, but ultimately I'll end up missing the snow.
I grew up in WI so I'd rather deal with that then the ice. I lived in Fairbanks, AK for 3 years and that ***sucked!

Not sure about Citag, s/he's new. Kiriyu is just an in-out kinda person. Says one thing every three days that every guy makes a big fuss over. Ludoggy gets really defensive since she's asian and underage (might be 18 now).
Artem is the wayward soul that makes you ponder the meaning of life by constantly reminding us life can suck. But he deals, and so do we. About the same for Savannah, except people are more "AWH!" to her because of a vagina involved.
Dasva is the ex military man (as is Krizz but this doesn't apply to him) who hates the world and plots a way to destroy most of it.
Number2 is kinda like a mix between Cai and I; never bashes, likes to laugh and has odd avatars. His current suits a lot of the convos this LS gets into. Barti is most well known for his moustache. He gives mousatche rides for a fee. I'm missing a few people but whatever. CARRY ON!
