You had your family reunion on Saturday? Me too! Are we related?

That wouldn't be very me. So I decided to tell you that brief anecdote about not relaying a different anecdote. *sips coffee again* Yep. I don't like my extended family so I`d never go to one. Parents, brothers and sister I still see, but the rest i couldn't care less about.

For the most part, the family I like lives nearby and are seen regularly. Plus, there's a lot of us, so we get together for weddings and birthdays and whatnot often enough to not need reunions I guess. All my immediate family live 10 minutes away, we're all local. The rest live in the same city, just not as local. But I just don't get on with them, plus if they really wanted to see me they know where I live.
I have an Aunt and cousins in Australia who I talk to on facebook but I haven't seen them in 15yrs (last time she came over here) My apologies for PARKER's lack luster dance party friday DJing....
We had to go to a steel mill and work like real men... It's factory shutdown season so I'll be floating helplessly in a sea of sleepless exhaustion for a few weeks. I was abandoned at birth, captured by the nazis, raised to be evil, my maternal adoptive grandmother told me she didn't have to love me because I was a *** and not her real grandson.... when I was three. and I still go to stupid family reunions sometimes... even though I look like the only indian at the thanksgiving for the Aryan race... My close family (relationship wise) is 1, 1.5, 3, 10, and 24+ hours away.
There are outliers closer that I'd see at said reunions but I'm not close enough to them directly to crash their 4th of July party and be readily recognized by more than 1-2 people there, so I don't bother. mondays are suck / sleep i desire now / this haiku sucks .
We fired someone today.
It wasn't me. Everyone rejoiced. Today is okay. That was almost a haiku.

Family reunions for me take place more at weddings or funerals... I'd go but no one really seems to want to put one together and everyone is really spread out...

Sounds about right. That's, frankly, probably the biggest thing for me right there. I'd like to see more happen, but *** if I'm about to do the work. Family is important to me.
My families tradition out in Ohio was set up by my father to get everyone together even friends. I have a big family, and since the late 1970s my father before my older brother and I came into the family picture helped plant our Incredible sweet corn field. Every year our family keeps growing with future generations. We call our family reunions Corn Roasts last year we had little over 200 show up. Our field was packed with cars and trucks it's always a good time can't say your hungry there's plenty of Corn and drinks. Got another this year coming up in September we hold it the weekend before labor day. This year is special it's also my father's retirement party. My brother and I will keep the tradition. I'm looking forward to hosting future corn roasts at the White House and yes the People will be invited. I'd like to see more happen, but *** if I'm about to do the work. I'm basically first generation fragmentation, if we're being honest. Before my generation everyone was super close both geographically and in general relationships. It's just the nature of the world we live in at this point, a good 75% of my generation of the family has scattered country-wide for work/etc. I have some truly close bonds with some folks from HS and college still that are as close, or closer, than those of blood. But despite really being guilty of nothing but adapting to the world in which we live, I still feel bad that my cousins/second cousins/etc. and I are not really as close as I'd like. I want to contaminate all of the water on this planet with a human sterility virus so that I can get some peace and quiet....
wait...did I just say that out loud!? or just think it? /clears throat I mean...I'll just be leaving....now.../smokebomb Shiva.Nikolce said: » I want to contaminate all of the water on this planet with a human sterility virus so that I can get some peace and quiet.... And Flavin wonders why I look upon his statement of you always being serious with either 1) dubiousness or 2) a sense that I need to invest in stronger home security. |
