i still have access to most things, but i only smoke. my guy is my longtime guy who i used to have more... serious... dealings with. i was hanging out the other night at his place and his guy came through. he apparently had access to some things i haven't had in awhile. i declined all except the free acid he said he had at home. he got it from someone and doesn't want to take it. might drop that, but coke, molly, home made ex, are things ih ave no interest in.

More like buried in an unmarked grave on the Serbian border for welshing on a bet against a Serbian gangster and a Chinese bookie.

Well, I'm gonna elaborate anyway.

She does comedy about her being promiscuous and plus-sized, but the second someone alludes to or references said topics she gets offended by it.

For example a kid on Twitter who took a pic with her at some event made a comment about 'spending the night with' her only for her to fire back. Glamour magazine referred to her as an inspirational plus-sized woman and she complained about it.

1. I've been familiar with her from way before her rise to fame in the past few years (not trying to be a stand-up hipster or anything, but I watch/listen to a lot of stand-up).

2. She's always been. It's part of her schtick.

The Twitter instance you're referring to was pretty amusing, actually. She was justified in her response to him in that instance, imo.

I dunno about the Glamour magazine thing. But it's my guess that no matter how positive she tries to be about various things, feelings are feelings, and being a famous woman in our society comes with certain expectations, fairly or not, and a famous woman being called fat is likely to elicit a negative response, even if it was done it a positive fashion.

That said, I'd expect her to be the kind of person to take something positive in a positive fashion. That or just make a joke and let it go. Fame goes to people's heads sometimes too, though.

TL;DR on Amy: she's a good stand-up comedian, her show has tackled some pretty legit issues through comedy, but she's making an exponential amount of missteps as she gets more and more famous and I think it's going to bite her in the ***.

Non sequitur edit:

Hevans, the Disney Robin Hood avatar is rad.

Honestly, she's justified in both reactions. "I spent the night with Amy Schumer, bet I'm not the first guy to say that!" Is kinda rude and she's not really fat.

It's not that she's reacting to it the way she is it's that she's a comedian who jokes about these things on stage and then is offended by them off stage. She's using what offends her to make money which seems like a no-no to me.

She isn't wrong, she's just not really the best person to make the points she's trying to make. It seems counterintuitive.

Maybe. I think all three are better than Sarah though. She's not bad or anything, but some comics put just a smidgeon too much seriousness in their bits and it gets uncomfortable.

Bill Hicks was like that. I thought he was an awful comedian. A great mind. A wonderful socio-political thinker and observer. But his jokes got too serious. Marvelous social commentary, but...at some point you're just being depressing, not funny.

Sarah's kind of a one trick pony in some ways. More juvenile by far in some moments. The content is the same as hers, though.

I still think Mulaney and Finnegan have been my favorites. I'd like to see Mulaney live.

IIRC, Sarah Silverman went all PC and SJW recently and got kinda slammed for it because it made its way into her routine. The comedian who sings through her *** is a SJW now.

On the comedy hypocrisy thing; think if someone called Ron White 'Tater Salad' and he got all pissy over it. No, he doesn't get to get mad over a joke he's made money off of for over 20 years.

I'm wondering how Nikki Glaser will handle these types of jokes.

She's been a regular on Bill Mahar's show for over a decade now. So, in that respect, she kind of always was [groovy, hip kiddo internet acronym speak]. Haven't seen a stand-up dished out by her since 2013ish?

Nikki Glaser seems cut from the same cloth.

They're all self-proclaimed sex comics. That's the tie that binds, so I agree with you on Schumer's freak out session.

EDIT: Now that I'm rereading the entire convo, there is something weird about the most popular comediennes all beng self identified sex comics.

Finnegan is pretty good, but he gets a little "'murica" sometimes and I find it uncomfortable. But even then he manages to keep it funny most of the time. (edit: Am I thinking of the right guy? I think I am. I get him and another guy confused sometimes.)

I *** almost died the first time I heard Mulaney. Literally. I was driving. Laughing too hard and driving is not safe.

We listen to stand-up on road-trips also. First time I heard Mulaney was in 2009/10 en route to New Mexico. (The one where he talks about his kleptomaniac buddy who stole familial stuff from house parties.)

EDIT: Need to look him up.

As much as I like Kristen Schal on 30 Rock, Flight of the Conchords, Bob's Burgers, Last Man on Earth, her stand-up was forgettable.

Well in the twitter instance you used the descriptive "kid", if the kid was underage then obviously you gotta shut that *** (the fabrication) down. Women in general don't like having their weight pointed out to them. They're pretty painfully aware of their weight and shape. It's one thing when you're self deprecating but it's a whole 'nother thing when people jump on board and take cracks. Like you said a difference between the joke being about you and being the joke.
