Poor kid :\

The anti-vax crowd is a scourge on society. I will cheerfully vote for any Presidential candidate that promises to make that ***a capital offense. And I live in Ohio now, so my vote actually matters this time!

Seriously, any of them. These people need to stopped, at the barrel of a gun if necessary.

You know, I wonder why this isn't question worthy of a primary debate. It might be shrugged off by shortsightedness, but one generation could do irreparable damage.

They field some questions for the primaries via social media. What's to say if ALL those who participated in multiple anti-vax debates here actually send in questions regarding this topic it wouldn't be addressed?

EDIT: Ten people are tallied, including yourself, just going by [+]s.

One isn't a citizen though. So, nix one.

No, no, NO. You don't even understand. Songs do not go away in my head. They just file themselves away to be brought up at shopping malls and bars where a random song comes on and my wife stares at me aghast, perplexed and going "why do you know the words to this?"

And my only answer is, "because I heard it a few times back in 1994, I have no choice in the matter."

Democrats don't want to alienate otherwise liberal people. Republicans are unlikely to pull supporters on this one issue alone.

It's a "top" issue for so few people in the grand scheme that it probably just isn't worth their time, or is directly detrimental.

All I know is that if I were a parent I'd consider it a much bigger issue and if I were the parent of an immunosuppressed child, I'd not be sending my child to school until vaccination was mandatory.

My brother is sitting here, steadily talking about ***he has no business talking about, being wrong and then he gives the "...sometimes you just gotta keep your mouth shut whether you're right or wrong and just let it go. I've had to do it a lot."

Really? I mean, I have to hold back on just about everything I think or say because he gets his feelings hurt easily.

It's also a question that their answer provides no upside, so they will never go there unless forced.

- If they say yes, the anti-vax crowd is insane, then Facebook (it's always Facebook) starts exploding with hate in their direction. These people are *** mouthy.
- If they go the other way and say vaccines are a problem, then they get ire the other direction (exception granted for The Trump™, as he is apparently bulletproof).
- If they try to halfass it and say it's a personal choice, then they look weak.

So yeah, no one's forced it on them because so few people care, and they will never volunteer it.

Now, now. Twitter is equally as bad. In fact, I'm pretty sure all the hate for Bernie for being "misogynist" for calling Hillary out for cutting him off came from Twitter.

I'm not saying someone should test that theory.

I am saying it's an interesting theory.

The thing is, are they all liberal leaning? I mean, my head spins trying to recall commentary, here or in articles, but don't some conservatives defend people opting out of vaccinations as a parent's right to choose? My damn state is overwhelmingly conservative and people can apply for immunization exemptions, last I saw. (Frightening!)

The bolded is the scary part. People not understanding the long-term ramification either.

Sick, so a bit of brain scrammblage at the moment, but what other states have overturned mandatory vaccinations in public schools? I need to read up on this again. I thought Jerry Brown swiftly shot the entire "personal and religious exemptions" down in CA?

Not sure if it's different from state-to-state. Parents who apply for Medicaid better not get religious/personal belief exemptions since they're using government funded healthcare. I would be even more pissed if I definitively knew that happened.

I'm speaking broadly because that's how candidates work. By appealing to as broad a swath of people as they can.

Yes, there are plenty of right-leaning anti-vaxxers too. But it's most frequently associated with the hippie/vegan/non-GMO crowd. Of which very few are attending Trump rallies.

Personally, IMO, if you refuse to vaccinate your kids you'd better start setting time aside for homeschooling. You don't get to send your kid to school to either get sick or make others sick just because you want to be a special snowflake.

Even with homeschooling, they're going to be out and about amongst the public.

Love my boys, but I'm not in denial over what little, grimy, snot-slinging, projectile vomiting, diarrhea-ing, poop-on-walls (I needed to repaint a section of a bathroom wall around the TP dispenser because there was feces still caked into the texturing), filth monsters they can be. Anti-vaxxers should toss their kids in a bubble.

What are you going to be doing in California?

If you meant Ohio, I'd suggest the Cuyahoga River, but it's probably already aflame

[Edit: I skipped right over the "new" in "new home state".]

Ohio is indeed the state in question.

I'll dump some gasoline in the river to keep it lit.

Schools require the basic set. Like 8 or so before kindergarten then some boosters later on during grade school. Like around 15-20 some shots are "required" by the time senior year rolls around.

While some of those are borderline unnecessary but probably still worth the risk of getting vaccinated.

Which is where the fighting begins.. While most sane people agree vaccines are a good thing, as always when does it stop?

A huge margin exists, now by the time senior year comes if you get every vaccine you're talking like 100++ shots while the minimum is around 15-20. Not counting Flu shots that most of the time don't work anyways.

Wait a minute.. What section is this?
