Morning all.
Niko you forgot to tell me all your jedi spongebob squarepants mind tricks. a long boring story about how I never really quit smoking.
After too many failed attempts to quit smoking I decided to quit quitting and it worked a lot better. The problem was I would tell myself I was quitting for my wife,,, but then when the nicotine jones rage kicks in I kept getting mad at my wife for making me quit..which only makes sense if you have been there and done that. so I thought
I'm a grown *** man!!, to use today's vernacular.. and I can smoke any goddamned time I want. But I got pissed that the cigarettes were calling the shots. But quitting made me crazy so now I just don't smoke as often.
yeah sometimes the anger sharks still swim around my brain and I come close to blowing up at random people for no apparent reason. But I use self hypnosis techniques and repeat over and over that it's just the nicotine talking, I don't need it, I can handle it, I'll smoke this weekend when I can enjoy it more. etc.
I can't have cigars or cigarettes laying around the house or I will smoke them. But if I want them on the weekend, let's say I am going camping, I will buy a pack, smoke as many as I want and throw the rest away before I come home sunday night.
I'm going to buy some cigars this weekend because I will be roasting ten bushels of peppers on the bbq grill outside and it will be the perfect time. So I will smoke whatever I buy until they are gone and then just not buy any more for however long
you gotta keep in mind that i'm probably insane too so it may not work for everyone.....but when I convinced myself that I wasn't quitting for good I was just putting it off until later it worked.... good luck!
That's basically how I drink anymore. I don't buy bottles of liquor for home because if they're around, I'll drink them. Because I'm an adult, they're adult beverages, and life is stressful and not always rewarding! I don't need it, but it certainly is nice, despite not being super healthy.
If we have plans (take the Jimmy Buffett concert last week) I'll buy a bottle of rum and if there's any left I'll enjoy it at home, otherwise I drink when we go out or on special occasions, but otherwise just don't keep it around and, in doing so, I find I desire it less overall anyhow.
Works with junk food too, I largely touch that anymore period.

I noticed that, also! The section about what he wants out of a tryst is kind of uncomfortable, too. Specifically, the request for cuddlin'. I seriously feel bad that even outward affection between spouses and kids is suppressed. I don't know if that's really the case, but a request for cuddles in an affair?

Bosses are gone, small hell breaks loose.
1) Battery falls out of electric forklift. No way of getting it in. (weighs a few hundred pounds)
2) After months of not working properly, guy finally arrives to fix AC. Doesn't have ladder or know where unit is.
3) Huge shipment arrives, no packing list, nobody knows what to do with it.
4) People complaining about other people not work/telling people what to do.
5) Someone wants to come pick up old racking from old building. Has a side deal with boss, others don't really know about it.
6) More ***arrives, no invoice.
7) Order given to vendor unclear. Have to improvise the order.
Took care of it all except 4 because I don't have any actual authority to tell people to stfu :/ If that's the worst this day throws at me, this is easy.
4 hours remain for building burning to commence.

I tried first to make it thirty days without smoking. I failed a couple times but then finally made it to thirty days at which point you can now go as long as you want. If you make it past the first three days you're pretty much in the clear until right around three weeks, I don't know the reason but just when you start to relax it sneaks up on you. But if you make it thirty you're fine. You're not quitting!
And I make up all kinds of dumb rules for myself like if I smoke three days I have to not smoke at least that long...
I think the longest I ever went was five years when I was trying out for the olympics which was a lark and a pipe dream and the opportunity presented itself so why not go for it kind of deal...

Oh right! But first (my dad taught me this trick). Before you try to go for X length of time without smoking you have a smoking day/weekend. you smoke cigarettes and cigars and pipes and whatever else and try to see how much you can smoke until you puke. and then you just keep smoking..... the goal is to smoke so much you never want to look at another newport again....

no it was taekwondo and the cutoff age was 38 and it was the last summer olympics I would have been eligible to try out for... I knew I wouldn't make it on the team but it was fun trying.... /shrug

I actually know a few, because of the wife's involvement in judo, but I realize I am not a representative sample.

Two for swimming events.
One for an equestrian event.
Not that out of the ordinary. Knowing someone who made it to the Olympics is something else entirely.

Sadly certain events in which I would have had great interest from childhood were simply not available where I lived. Fencing would have been great. Archery I really think I could have excelled in, but as it is I just didn't some bowhunting and instruction locally. :x

What's funny about archery is you never really see clubs for that through out middle school and HS, but it's crazy how many backwoods bow hunters come out of the woodwork in college!
I was surprised when Mos mentioned his daughter's school has an archery club. Pretty cool stuff!

Alyria is the most social female, gets groped a lot without provoking it by others, and Tairo ends up stabbing people for it. Cai is just a barrel of lols, I might be gay for him. If I wasn't straight.
Not sure about Citag, s/he's new. Kiriyu is just an in-out kinda person. Says one thing every three days that every guy makes a big fuss over. Ludoggy gets really defensive since she's asian and underage (might be 18 now).
Artem is the wayward soul that makes you ponder the meaning of life by constantly reminding us life can suck. But he deals, and so do we. About the same for Savannah, except people are more "AWH!" to her because of a vagina involved.
Dasva is the ex military man (as is Krizz but this doesn't apply to him) who hates the world and plots a way to destroy most of it.
Number2 is kinda like a mix between Cai and I; never bashes, likes to laugh and has odd avatars. His current suits a lot of the convos this LS gets into. Barti is most well known for his moustache. He gives mousatche rides for a fee. I'm missing a few people but whatever. CARRY ON!
