Morning Ni.

I wish this coffee was treating me as well as the maker's mark did yesterday morning. boo *** monday.

Rooks how in the *** do you get anything done working from home with a 2 year old there? do you have an office on a different floor of the house that blasts nirvana at 80 decibels?

just curious. I can barely get anything done with that fool tailing me around asking 'why' 200,000 times. I don't recall the girls being this wild. maybe I'm just getting too old to hang with toddlers... hmmm...

anyway, how fares the rest of you shining bunch? anyone commit any crimes or anything fun this weekend?

I'm suprised he's gotten that far verbally at two. My nieces all did well enough that they were babbling up a storm by 24 months, but Ike and Dylan not so much, they especially weren't putting together imporant concepts like cause-and-effect.

Ike's okay now, but Dylan may be a bad example though, as he has developmental delays in general.

But that's what happens when a naive girl fools around with my idiot brother-in-law. His seed can't be clean. I'm amazed he's even sterile.

Yep, office is on the second floor. He's actually fairly quiet by toddler standards; as long as he has books to look at, things to climb, and a parent nearby, he's pretty happy to entertain himself. He only gets yelly if there's an actual problem. I stagger my schedule around the times he's most likely to be loud, too.

He can hear my desk chair rattling around above him, so he knows I'm nearby, which is mostly enough; I'll hear a DADAAAA now and then from the base of the stairs, and I'll usually indulge him unless I'm in the middle of something that I can't easily interrupt. Knowing I can be summoned seems to take a lot of the urgency out of my absence.

I considered burning a few retail outlets down because it was July and apparently if you try to buy summer clothes in July they treat you like you wandered away from your chaperone from the care home.

I finished the GW integration for FFXIVPro. Well, I say "finished" in that it's functional but sort of ugly. But functional!

I still have a giant stack of things to implement, specifically around recipes and vendor pricing (hat tip to Drac), but it's at least some visible progress and new features on that side.

I just hung with the boy & took care of the lawn and victory garden. the stupid squash is out of control so I had to build a quasi-hammock for them to ride in. played some ESO, & drank a bit when time allowed. nothing really interesting.

Well idk... It's a nice respite from constant work & kids & other people's problems. I don't like drinking at night out in public because there's 100 retards everyplace, & it's too loud. sunday at 10am it's so nice & quiet, & the two other guys there are in their 50's and 70's, so I get to hear stories about this place back in the old times, & most importantly, lazy sundays are far more enjoyable half lit.

there's some part of me that even after living comfortably & sanely for 9-10 years, still longs for squalor & discomfort. somehow visiting that life once a week reminds me of how chaotic & stupid it truly was / is. watching some numbnut come in smelling & looking like ***, meekly asking for a water, & then going out to retrieve his vehicle from the parking lot through almost shut squinted eyes brings it all to the forefront of my mind like a terrible acid flashback, I shudder, & go back home with new zeal to making that mf'in money, & tending to a non-chaotic life for someone else.

I'm pretty messed up, yo!

Maybe I'm just screwed up too, but I think most people take a bit of guilty pleasure in being reminded there are people out there far worse off than they are.

Reminds you things could be worse while inspiring you to do better at the same time.

At least, it does for me.

I prefer to drink at night, at home, after the kids go to bed...

I also can't imagine getting drunk at 10:00 am and then doing anything but taking a nap.....

The trick is to only get half drunk. Two drink maximum. Just enough to make mowing or snow removal fun.

This is true. Getting a little drunk always made mowing the law better.

I think I did 3-4 beer though.

The amount of booze required to make snow removal enjoyable in my neck of the woods is at odds with the task itself. They'd find me dead in a snow bank, a smile frozen onto my face.

New computer purchase.

Her: I want an all in one to do basic activities like emails and Ms office.

Me: I want to be able to do modeling and play video games.

Her: Whatever you want your the expert.

Me: How about this one?

Her: Its not an all in one.

Me: .................

........ugh.

Yeah, don't share a computer.

Marriage is a partnership, not a complete dissolution of two people in to one. You need to keep some things separate so that you're still "you", on top of being "us".

Adopt the mennonite ways and give up drinking altogether!

This, all day long. My wife's even more computer-saavy than I am. We keep our electronics pretty seperate, each with our own smart phone, tablet, laptop, and desktop.

I realize not everyone has the option for all of those, but they're fairly vital in the way we live our lives and operate. We both write on-the-go and engage in PC gaming.

And give up buttons while you're at it. Buttons are a vanity and an insult to god!

Or something.

Seriously. I've seen life after drinking. It's my father, and I want zero part of it.

As for actual help, I don't know how computer-saavy you are, if you build your own ***or order them or what.

If you're down with a prebuilt PC, consider going through Dell because very frequently you can get a good tablet for a cut rate price when you buy a PC. Tablet for her e-mail/etc. needs, PC for you.

Problem solved.

My mood and overall health improved significantly when I stopped drinking. It's not a hard stop - special occasions and work conferences, I'll still have a few - but my regular consumption is gone, and I honestly couldn't be happier for it.
