So. A timeline for FFXI's death.
Anyone else going to go home and start mourning Irish wake-style? morning all.
I'm with Misa on the great pizza war. *** all yall. I am strangely drawn to a ffxi with a definite ending & no more item levels... that might make me crazy though, idk. Bought the ff type-o & 15 demo last night. I'm kind of excited to try out 15. Siren.Mosin said: » I am strangely drawn to a ffxi with a definite ending & no more item levels... I would have preferred a closer finite ending date, not dragging on for several years with minimal support. My wife and I have been texting back and forth this morning discussing it, we're thinking the end of year, this time next year at the latest, we'll pull the plug. Enough time to drain all the good feels out of the final updates and run around the nostalgic bits a little before finishing. that's funny, I'm thinking the opposite, like I could get back into it again without the threat of the devs *** something up every other month.
The Dawn of a New Master.... the Man, the Myth, the Legend of Iron *** Kung Fu <gong sound>
Shiva.Nikolce said: » your sight is useless because your enemy is behind you. lmfao! thanks for that, though I'm not sure what brought it on. wow, people are really losing their ***today, lol.

Everyone keeps thinking there is some means a round peg can fit into a square hole and I am unsympathetic to their delusions of conformity... I keep saying, it doesn't fit. it's not going to fit, you are never going to make it fit... and they keep telling me to shut up and that all I need to do is care more and it will magically happen.... There. I don't believe in the magic of education... so kill me. YouTube Video Placeholder no...no I don't Bismarck.Magnuss said: » How can I do my job when I have to address every infraction that comes my way? But hey, teaching is simple, right? But your job is to deal with them while still providing that environment and those resources for them to grow and learn. Don't you know that? Edit: My feeling on it is simply that some children must be left behind. If they are unable or unwilling to engage in -- and especially if they inhibit other children from -- learning, then put them in their remedial classes and let them go on to be whatever unskilled job is needed. They're still worthy human beings and those jobs need done; they're very valuable members of society. But higher education is simply not their thing. Give them the basics on how to live their lives and leave the further pedagogy to those who can handle it. I believe there are plenty of children that should be left behind. I know I am right on this, because I was one of them. jesus on peyote couldn't have convinced me to be a round peg.

Hey, I'd love to spend my time teaching the students who want to learn and have the rest take nothing but math and science, but unless I get out of this country, that's never going to happen. Or maybe charter schools or something. Siren.Mosin said: » jesus on peyote couldn't have convinced me to be a round peg. and yet we keep sitting around trying to come with new ways to do it... like common core. common core isn't going to work. but not for any of the reasons that have been mention thus far but because nothing can work. there is no singular perfect system for downloading information into children eventually we will get to the matrix low jack into the back of the nugget type force download and even then I suspect rejection rates will remain the same.... Or maybe charter schools or something. I used bold italics because I'm not sure how to do the backward sartalics. There are people around who would say your job is to "deal with it and figure it out, that's your job" is all I'm saying. And I'm saying their view on the subject is simplistic and dismissive. |
