my main PC has an issue, which lately has gotten worse.
upon pressing the power button, the PC boot sequence would not start, as if a stalled engine, that eventually would start up after a few minutes.
not long ago, this would range from 15-45 mins at most.
this past month, this has changed to the worst, taking about 1.5 hours.... today it went over that. 2hr mark.
reported it to IT this morning and they just took it.
(back when it was 15-45 min I was told to deal with it)
so now i sit on my desk with no work PC.

If you are worried about lost work time on that scale, you'd have to fire half the IT department. There's a lot of comfort in knowing that nobody has a clue what your job actually entails.

it's rare that people bug me early off on monday, and when i know i have turn in something that early, I don't turn off the PC overnight to avoid the whole issue, and once the boot time became an issue, I dont turn it off over the week, except friday.
also our IT is a joke and almost non existent, people from another production department who double up as IT.

But then again, I've never had to do that; our IT department is pretty helpful and on the ball when it comes to minimizing disruption to the employees.

Somehow, I doubt those were the words used. I'll assume they meant to describe the local meridian, e.g. the point directly above the observer, not the east horizon and some undefined point directly above the east horizon.
