Ramyrez said: » Caitsith.Zahrah said: » ![]() Last few seasons just lingered too long. :/ Every season after the first -- from the very first episode of season 2 -- was just entirely downhill. The show as compelling, engaging and just generally amazing. And then it went to ***. I blame the writers, as the actors are on the money. Don Draper I get; you're not supposed to like him, though roughly 101% of people in the U.S. do for some reason. But even aside from him...there isn't really one redeemable person on that show. It killed me. I couldn't keep watching. Awesome! I thought Yomi and I were the only ones who watched 'Madmen' on here! I forgot which season it was where I started falling off. I want to say it was three? The one where Draper and Sterling went rogue and created their own firm. I think the popularity of it gave the writers segues into jumping the shark time and time again. Draper was a good character but with his eventual cultural icon status they kept going for broke with him. The first season is really a master stroke in character development. I just felt, if you'll allow me a bit of imagery, that the garment they eventually sewed with the threads of that first season, however, was ill-fitting and gaudy.
I watched all of season two and into season three, so I guess that yes, I technically fell off the same time you did. After a few episodes of season two I didn't care for where it was going, but I rode out the season to see where it went and if it would recover. In my eyes, it didn't. I'm in agreement with you about Draper, too. Oh, also, I hate Pete. Hate, hate, hate, hate, hate Pete. Hate Pete. Morning all. (It's close, but still is, technically, here)
I apologize for my tardiness. Work is a hive of activity, & my grandmother was in / out of surgery, & yeeesh, do I need a mf'ing break, nap, or lobotomy. I have maybe three people I trust in this world, outside of family, & I am currently trying to employ one. He brilliant & an animal but is kind of hurt & ***is getting complicated. his pride is starting to turn the whole deal into that I'm only keeping him around as a charity case, which couldn't be further from the truth, & I want to destroy something beautiful to hold up a mirror to the universe. I can get an icepick, but lost the instructions.

What didn't make any sense at all to me was they based an entire sub-story in a season or two around Betty grappling with getting out from under Don's shadow. Then, next season, all the sudden she's divorced, comfort eating herself to obesity, and crawled up the leg of a politician? The writers could have done a lot more with her. Hate Pete too, but I loved Trudie! Then again, I like Alison Brie, so... Siren.Mosin said: » Morning all. (It's close, but still is, technically, here) I apologize for my tardiness. Sorry about your grandmother and buddy. they're both fine, I'm just stressed. peppering up this hair some more.
Part of the reason I hate Pete is his treatment of Trudie.
Betty was a sympathetic figure at first, but went to ***herself. Actually, I guess I lied. Salvatore, Trudie, and (mostly) Joan are fairly sympathetic characters, at least within context of the show. Actually my feelings for Don greatly turned at his response to Salvatore's situation with the cigarette jerk. But then he left the show, so...oi. Right?
As an addendum to my last post, my sympathies toward Joan may very well be influenced by, you know. The actress. Man that actress. /wistful Edit: And, of course...her husband: (littering and...)
-sets mosi pants on fire-
dun worry, not like you'll remember any of this~ We watched 'Dead Man on Campus' for the umpteenth time last night.
![]() I know what happened to "Zack", but what happened to the other guy. 'That Thing You Do' and 'American Werewolf in Paris' guy? Hmmm... Caitsith.Zahrah said: » We watched 'Dead Man on Campus' for the umpteenth time last night. hmmmm... I don't think I've seen that one. Ramy, Anime is serious business in RT. Don't defame the all mighty Animes with your lies and slander!
You better watch your back! They're going to send one of those docile, bug-eyed, little things after you! Before you know it Princess Sugar Bean of Skiddlee-Dee-Bop-Land is going to morph into katana-weilding, robo bug, and Odin help you when that happens! When she's done with you, she's going to gnaw on her sleeve, twist her hair innocently, vomit it up like a cat (Early week reference! HEYO!) and skip off to Europa with her jet propulsion to J-Pop! NOW THAT'S A WOMAN! EDIT: Yeah, I'm not a fan either, but it's a useless fight. Caitsith.Zahrah said: » Ramy, Anime is serious business in RT. I like anime just fine...much like comics, it's something I used to be into before I had a job and responsibilities and things had to be let go. I watch some of my old favorites sometimes still. I'm not "going after" anime at all. I promise. Just happened to bring it up in two seperate instances and I guess neither is going over well. Whatever. It's Friday. Caitsith.Zahrah said: » (Early week reference! HEYO!) you make me proud. idk, anime is pretty hit & miss for me. I liked dragon ball z, Hiyo Miazaki (sp?), & samurai champloo. I never really spent any time seeking it out, so there could be more I'd like & not be aware of. I actually quit hanging out in rt because it was all anime talk & I knew nothing about it / didn't interest me. oops, late for a meeting, bbl. Yeah, I totally get the correlation. Just people get testy about it in there.

I really only liked Trigun. Wolfwood was my hero.
It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure I remember Amano drawing inspiration from Western comics early in his career.
