While I tend to agree with you in principal, in practice, my wife didn't bring me flipflops or a hat (she was in charge of packing while I finished work) & I had to poop in a hole in the ground.

Sleep on the ground by a fire.
Camping on beaches is the best, unless a storm starts rolling in. I love being by water.

Same here. There's nothing better than being surrounded by a mass of trees on all sides. Back when I was in Boy Scouts I used to go camping up north around the Two Rivers area or out by High Cliff State Park. We used to build our own wilderness shelters and make dutch oven cobbler. I miss those days. When I move north, I'm definitely going to start camping more often.

The weather is nice
The mosquitoes are limited or repelled
I don't get a hangover
It is not at a week long concert (Roskilde fest, it's a fun experience but I will probably never do it again)
There is some showering (or something that has running water) facility available
First time Mil and I went camping he brought some hotdogs, started a fire and said we would cook each others food.
I looked at him and said it the most neutral voice I could "That sounds interesting!"
My hot dog was great.
His was burned on the outside and cold in the middle. Cooking over a fire, something I had never tried before. A for effort, right? :p

Those are most of my requirements also. LOL! The feeling of fresh water, not as bad as salt water, is still gritty in some way.
Oh! And fish funk on your hands!
Everything tastes better, for some strange reason, when it's cooked over and open flame. I love hobo pies, especially with crappie, potatoes, and onions.

One of the most memorable camping trips was taking a canoe down a river, stopping at some random camping spot and then being woken up by some hippie chick with shrooms for breakfast. You've never experienced camping until you wake up with shrooms for breakfast in the middle of the pine barrens and then proceed to canoe down the river for another 6 hours.

Ouachita Falls, Buffalo River, Caddo River (Arkansas), Texoma (only in the bays or small tributaries), and the estuaries of Crystal Beach and Mustang Island. I love it!
What's the deal with kids being so lucky that they reel in the most interesting oceanic specimens when fishing?

I think it's some weird, cosmic intervention, so the kiddos get to get their jollies. It's nice.

Caffeine doesn't affect me. Coffee to me is just a hot, bitter mess.
It's a mix for me.
