I don't have the Yarnball Plugin. I just grabbed the standard Windower, haven't really messed with any of the "Non-standard" plugins.

Lol, I recommend you get that then. c.c Probably one of my favorite plugins. Shows when buffs are about to wear.

Also, did you remember to Save Recast.ini before reloading recast plugin ingame?

Change settings, save, close, reload, repeat... Gonna log out, redownload the windower, and start from scratch.

And download any suggested additions to the "Standard."

Then might I suggest:

-BlinkMeNot
-Cancel
-ChatMon
-ConsoleBG
-Distance
-DrawDistance
-ExpWatch
-Infobar
-LightLuggage
-Logger
-Recast
-Silence
-Spellcast (No, seriously, this is the most important plugin of them all)
-Tickle
-Timestamp
-TParty
-Yarnball

Sorry if there's plugins in there that already come default with Windower. I don't remember which ones are default anymore.

-BlinkMeNot - Don't heal, thank Altana

-Cancel - have yet to learn to use it

-ChatMon - Forgot what this did

-ConsoleBG - Never touched

-Distance - Never pay attention to it :x

-DrawDistance - Never got the point in this

-ExpWatch - Not a big deal, I don't pay attention to exp, just stare blankly and hit macros

-Infobar - Forgot about this one

-LightLuggage - No idea what this does

-Logger - Another NM thing

-Recast - My favorite thus far

-Silence - Meh, less chat spam

-Spellcast - Still no freakin' clue how to use it

-Tickle - Don't use

-Timestamp - Will probably just use for NMs

-TParty - <3, though I never pay attention to it

-Yarnball - Recast has something like this I think, but it's accuracy is shitty :X

That's pretty much the rundown for me...

Easiest way to understand drawdistance:
-Go to a zone that's big and not closed in tightly (Gustaberg, Delfkutt's tower in the middle floors or top, Ordelle's Cave on the Malboro spawn cliffs).
-Type //drawdistance set 5.
-Type //drawdistance set 1.
-Repeat until it dawns on you what you're missing.

LightLuggage just sorts your inventory better than SE does.

I've seen what it does, but I don't quite understand the point. Seeing extremely long distances hasn't done anything for me... Yet.

And what does Lightluggage do that SE's sort doesn't? I don't feel like auto-trashing all my crystals and whatnot :x

It just looks prettier :D That's never a bad thing~

I find that SE's sort doesn't always work for some reason. Just keep in mind, LL was made before SE's sorting stuff.

-ChatMon - Forgot what this did -Plays a sound through speakers if someone checks you or emotes, you can set to what you want its ok

-ConsoleBG - Never touched- Idk

-Distance - Never pay attention to it :x - Still nice to have honestly

-DrawDistance - Never got the point in this- Graphics I think

-ExpWatch - Not a big deal, I don't pay attention to exp, just stare blankly and hit macros -- Again still nice to have, lets you see buffer etc.

-Infobar - Forgot about this one - Don't look at it often, but when I do, I am really glad i have it

-LightLuggage - No idea what this does- Sorts yo ***

-Logger - Another NM thing - Don't use it, nice to have I guess

-Recast - My favorite thus far - You know

-Silence - Meh, less chat spam - Amazing for someone like me swaping ~12 pieces of gear every WS, and Im a swap ***

-Spellcast - Still no freakin' clue how to use it - If you learn its awesome, I dont use it, I like doing things myself, I feel it gives you an unfair advantage etc

-Tickle - Don't use No idea

-Timestamp - Will probably just use for NMs - God, use it, and love it

-TParty - <3, though I never pay attention to it - Awesome again, also for alliances

-Yarnball - Recast has something like this I think, but it's accuracy is shitty :X - Nice for what its used for lool

That's pretty much the rundown for me...

Cancel's an industry secret for sneak and ichi casting. If you wanna know you're gonna have to work for it!

Chatmon's also better used for sounding off events for specific chat triggers, battle or conversational, such as a specific TP move being prepared, or an effect wearing off. Very handy when done right!

-BlinkMeNot - Acceptable. If you ever do level a mage, you really need this one though.

-Cancel - Most useful if you ever NIN or /NIN, you can have a "//cancel 67" in your Utsusemi: Ichi macro which makes it so Ichi won't "Has no effect"

-ChatMon - Makes sound effects when you get tells, emotes, or someone says your name, when you're tabbed out of FFXI or whatever, but more importantly, it has an RMT /tell spam filter.

-ConsoleBG - I know for sure this one is default. It's basically the black box behind the console.

-Distance - Again, it's a mage plugin. Max casting range is 21.6 and this is perfect for solo or whatever when you're grav-kiting and just have to run to max distance.

-DrawDistance - Makes FFXI look cooler if your computer can support it. Lol.

-ExpWatch - Even so, it's nice to have to be able to tell whether or not your party is a waste of time.

-Infobar - Probably one of the top 3 plugins. Says directly onscreen whether or not mobs aggro or link, their level, what element they're weak to, etc. It's kinda hard to configure but the default settings work perfectly anyway.

-LightLuggage - This one is default for sure also. Basically auto-stacks inventory items which is invaluable for fast parties or farming.

-Logger - It has nothing to do with NMs. Just makes a .txt log of everything that showed up in your log. In case you need to check, for instance, exactly what time you can enter Limbus, Dynamis, Einherjar etc, or, well it's useful for if you get an NM ToD, but end up disconnecting or something and can't scroll up to see it.

-Recast - Also default.

-Silence - Default too. It gets more useful at higher level when you literally swap all 12 gear slots when you WS or something, then swap back to TPing. 24 lines of spam=no thanks.

-Spellcast - Not many people do. But honestly it's sooooo worth the trouble. /brokenrecord

-Tickle - Again, more useful for soloing on RDM or SCH or something and you have time to heal. Basically what it does is show exactly when you'll get your next /healing tic so you don't end up interrupting your healing with half a second left to get the next tic.

-Yarnball - Recast and Yarnball are like opposites. Yarnball tells you the recast, again really good for mages.

That's pretty much the rundown for me...

TP move, as in for enemies? Or just Allies?

Cause if it's enemies, I think I'll stray from that line a bit... Can't let my reflexes become even shittier.

Well it makes a sound effect when someone says your name.

Like, for instance, if you're doing a skillchain, say Rana >> Gekko, if the first SAM uses Rana and you're up for Gekko, his macro could be something like this:

(Tachi: Rana)(Just used it.) Tousou, you're up!

And it will make the sound effect when it sees your name so you'll know exactly when you're needed.

Alrighty... Finished downloading all the suggestions. Until I get either super Anal or try to be the "Best of the best" BLM, I think I'll stick with script macros.(Of course, how can one be the "best of the best" with everything being automatic :p).

Now all that's left is remembering which ones I need to configure and setting my usuals to autoload.

Distance is pretty much useful for every job.

Gotta love WSing at 4.6 and losing your TP when it would have connected at 4.5. Lol.

Also useful when trying to stand out of range of a mob's AoE.

Oh! I remember the Standard thing that keeps bugging the ***out of me!

It ups the Gamma and brightens everything all weird. I don't usually notice it until I get somewhere dark, like a cave. Easily fixed with F11, but still something I wish I could turn off, or at least auto-load off until I "need" it.

You can have it default to off but honestly I just keep it on at all times. I see no reason not to really.

It's more an aesthetic thing for me. Being colorblind is bad enough, I'd rather not have dark, dank places become bright horribly gray places.

Edit: That editable file for Recast vanished when I started from scratch. That could explain why it wasn't working for me

Yeah, you can do that. I, for instance, have alerts for when specific campaign battles start based off the little message that pops up. For battle-related triggers it can be a little flakey, for me anyway, but yeah, that specific type of use is a little limited to being lazy, but that's like most things with Windower. lol

That would be useful if I ever did campaign. I really didn't know those messages had anything of value to them other than, "Hey! Go here! Something will happen in 30 minutes!"

Hm. Dumb question, are .ini and .dll two different things? If so, where the hell is my Recast.ini? XD

Directed towards Krizz, if he's still lurking.

When you get a DS, do not be tempted to buy Lunar: Dragon Song. I have absolutely no idea how the creators of Silver Star could *** up so bad...but I promise you. I swear to god it was one of the worst games I have ever, ever played. The only reason I played through the first hour was because it was Lunar, and I expected a good story. Wrong. It was a hyper-watered down version of Silver Star, with characters you hate. :/ Skip it for your sanity.

But... but... My lunar collection... It has to be complete...

.ini and .dll are different. I don't know for sure, but most I know is .dll is a driver and .ini tells a program where to find the proper files it needs to run.
