Row's post about FF6 reminded me I need to finish FF5 and FF2, and made me decide to work on 5 this weekend. It also made me go in search of a good Galuf avatar, which I couldn't find any I like so then I found one of Minwu (Mindu in origins).

FF2 was just weird to me. Decent story, kinda bland to today's standards. It's pretty straightforward, of course so was FF1, with a twist at the end. FF5 was good, I wish it would have come out in the US first. Maybe it would have changed my nostalgia on FF6.
Dame, I'm shocked you haven't beaten FF5 with all this talk of Exdeath and the void. I'd understand if you were at the final boss and just couldn't come to kill your idol though. FF2 is depressing, so much death x.x
I'm in the Void in FF5 :P Gilgamesh's monologue is hilarious in there. Mid-fight too!

Final Fantasy is depressing in general. Death is a very common theme in it. It seems to make the story more interesting though. Yes, but (actual spoiler) all except one (maybe two, I forget if Gordon dies) of your 4th party members throughout the game (not including Leon) dies when they leave your party...

Honestly though, using them to hide pics/videos I feel is a good use to reduce lag, especially when quoted and on work DSL :P

Even bigger spoilers of end of the game Basically in the actual game you kill the emperor, everyone is happy. But some time passes and that dark knight douchebag, I don't remember his name, takes over. During this time, in the gates of hell or whatever, the 4 people that died in the story find each other and get together to kill the emperor in hell.
So back in the original game, you have your main 4 people again and they're all like "wtf the emperor came back from hell and he's even more powerful?" And Minwu's all like "my bad dude, couldn't stop him" Leon is the dark knight douchebag lol. His reign was so short xD

My biggest beef with FF2 is the gap between magic and attack. I can attack for 2k damage. Ultima 5? 300 if I'm lucky. Holy 7? 350. It's like either you attack through everything, or you have to nuke it because they have like capped defense so your crappy spells are suddenly needed, where as in a normal situation they are awful and a waste of time unless you are LITERALLY spamming them just to level them up. I actually took video footage of this to show my friend rofl.

I hated the leveling system. Want more HP? Get hit more, no pain no gain. Want more MP? Waste all your MP.
I don't think I used magic at the end. Once you get the Blood Sword, it's just pointless. Blood Sword does like no damage though. Maria has Cure 11ish though so... yeah. All is well. I've actually taken the time to level up Pro/Shell/Barrier/Wall a little too.
Btw, there are like 7 spells that are all basically "instantly kill foe(s)" just worded differently. Let's see if I can name them all:
Break
Warp
Doom
Fear (run away same as killing I say lol)
Quake
Banish
Hmm I think I'm missing one.

never did like FF2, mainly for its level up shitty system :/ I like the system to a degree. It's a nice change from the norm, and there are ways to manipulate it. For instance, casting AoE spells on your party is a great way to level up spells, MP, Magic, Int/Spirit depending on spell, Magic Defense, HP, and Endurance all at the same time.
It does, however, cause lots of extra grinding and kinda obscures defined rolls.

I just remember playing NA 1,2 and 3 on the super nintendo lol... I later got the copies for PS1 but yeah..

Since we all can't be on the same linkshell in game, this can be our cross server linkshell thread.
Like most linkshells, it can be pretty dead at times. Other times it's full of intense conversations about either rl, gear, goals, pokemon or anything else you want to contribute.

Kungfu is the LS nutjob, spouting super random things that are usually sexist, until Savvy or Alyria comes into the room. Then he's a classic case of sexual harrassment. Rumaha is also true to the second part; we're wondering about his sexuality though.
Daj is Ludoggy's gay lover. Not much else is known about this Asuran. Tairo is kinda new, but since is a female and Alyria's lesbian lover, she fit right in real quick.
Celene(F) and Rowland(M) are more of the shyer members, but often say things that are witty, have a good pun and sometimes cause three page discussions. Celene hates when people hit on her. It doesn't stop them from trying.
Krizz is just social and likes to kill time here during work Tbest is about the same, except tends to be a douche to guys and affectionate toward girls.
Alyria is the most social female, gets groped a lot without provoking it by others, and Tairo ends up stabbing people for it. Cai is just a barrel of lols, I might be gay for him. If I wasn't straight.
Not sure about Citag, s/he's new. Kiriyu is just an in-out kinda person. Says one thing every three days that every guy makes a big fuss over. Ludoggy gets really defensive since she's asian and underage (might be 18 now).
Artem is the wayward soul that makes you ponder the meaning of life by constantly reminding us life can suck. But he deals, and so do we. About the same for Savannah, except people are more "AWH!" to her because of a vagina involved.
Dasva is the ex military man (as is Krizz but this doesn't apply to him) who hates the world and plots a way to destroy most of it.
Number2 is kinda like a mix between Cai and I; never bashes, likes to laugh and has odd avatars. His current suits a lot of the convos this LS gets into. Barti is most well known for his moustache. He gives mousatche rides for a fee. I'm missing a few people but whatever. CARRY ON!
