I expect that house to have ballin' pillars.

No. It's a modern ranch style house with limestone and siding. Central Texas has a definitive style. They went with that. The only thing I've done with classical pillars is a bank.
/comfort

I have a guilty pleasure of the older English style of residential architecture.

Edit: Tudor houses being my preferred the name was just slipping my mind whilst I typed.

It's hard to pin down what I really like. It depends on where the site is. I love classic Americana. Craftsman and Cape Cod might be on the top of the list. Victorian might be number one with me.

I have a serious question, Ni.

Do you guys think I have what it takes to sell writing? I've really been thinking about selling short stories but I feel as though my writing is honestly crap, but most people say it's fairly good. Like that huge fanfic I'm currently ignoring, I view that as utter ***, but it's got a shockingly large following.

I was considering writing short stories and selling them through Barnes and Noble's PubIt! program for a dollar or so each. I'd make 60% back if I'm selling 2.99 and 9.99 and 40% back otherwise.

Thoughts? Encouragement? Warnings? Criticism? All are welcome.

I'm no critic, but I enjoy it.

I heard you're laughed at in the writing industry if you self-publish and that it essentially makes you viewed kinda like how people in XI view people that wear 5/5 Aurore.

I wore 5/5 perle for a long time. I was also wielding a death scythe.

I don't think it's just about writing good stories. It's about knowing certain people. Contact publishers. Find out what it takes to be "noticed". How did that one guy who wrote the Eragon books become popular?

His parents were publishers. They had all those contacts already. His work was crap but he still made it.

I guess I see your point.

It would at least get your name out there though... even if it's not a great start, one day someone might read your stuff, like it, and want to offer you a contract... really nothing to lose from it right?

My favorite Disney movie? That's tough. Hmmm...I always was partial to 'Robin Hood'. Who doesn't like this Prince John?

Okay...I'll preface this before it gets pegged as a Jaerik tangent, it's not so spare me, please...

Anyway, not sure what Scragg does professionally, but have you ever wondered if either of them track potential consumer patterns through this site?

/readies "Shut up, guys! Why are you teasing me?!?" and storms out of thread
