The movie "Ip Man" is one of the best Kung Fu movies I've seen. With subtitles, it actually has a great story and acting as well.
A sequel to it ("Ip Man 2" believe it or not) was just brought out on a limited theatrical release in the states (can probably download it, but I haven't tried yet).
I just saw an Indonesian martial arts flick called "Merantau" that was surprisingly well done too. I didn't even know Indonesia had a martial arts style =P

I quit because I was working on about 15 jobs and all kinds of crafts and needed all kinds of HNMs we could never get claim on, then they announced they were going to increase the job levels to 99. I have OCD so I would need the extra 24 levels for every job which I calculated to take 3x as long as 1-75 would have for 15 jobs. I know the calculation doesn't apply anymore because Abyssea made it so much easier, but even without accounting for how much added work that was and how it made all my old gear obsolete, I still was getting overworked with everything I needed done.
I hadn't signed in much for about 3 months prior to the level cap announcement, but I had officially cancelled my ID the day it was announced.

Because I know you may not like the concept of Abyssea and whatnot, but if you do it in small doses it is pretty fun, in my opinion. I log on maybe twice a week tops now and I find that I enjoy it a lot more to do small amounts than not.

My main issue is that FFXI had such a great wealth of content at LV75, and now with Abyssea, it's all worthless space. The only zones that matter for your standard player are Port Jeuno and the Abyssea zones.
I just think it's kind of disappointing to see a whole game be reduced to so little.
I also take issue with how fast everything is to obtain in Abyssea. A good player can get a job to 90 in about two days, and get all the appropriate gear in a week or less. After that week, what do you do? Just sit and admire your new gear? There's no reason to branch out and do anything else, not to mention no reason to level any job anymore other than MNK and WHM. As it stands, the game can be "completed" in less than a month, as opposed to pre-abyssea where it took years and even then very very few people had everything done.

To answer your question, I have no intention of starting anything pertaining to Abyssea, and if I do, that won't be for years down the line. I have a close group of friends and family members that all share my opinion.
For the time being, I am perfectly content to doing old LV75 content in a low-man setup and finding new ways to do old stuff that was considered impossible due to overcrowding (Like most HNMs) or money/time constraints. It's also nice not to be forced to sign in at certain times to do events (Endgame shells).
I mean, if you think about it, pre-Abyssea content is now like a giant private server on most servers, with a working AH and all that. Most rabble NMs are just up and walking around, or require one PH to be killed to spawn. I'm okay with that.

Again, not a ghost town, just more of a post-apocalyptic Washington DC or something.

Since we all can't be on the same linkshell in game, this can be our cross server linkshell thread.
Like most linkshells, it can be pretty dead at times. Other times it's full of intense conversations about either rl, gear, goals, pokemon or anything else you want to contribute.

Krizz is just social and likes to kill time here during work Tbest is about the same, except tends to be a douche to guys and affectionate toward girls.
Alyria is the most social female, gets groped a lot without provoking it by others, and Tairo ends up stabbing people for it. Cai is just a barrel of lols, I might be gay for him. If I wasn't straight.
Not sure about Citag, s/he's new. Kiriyu is just an in-out kinda person. Says one thing every three days that every guy makes a big fuss over. Ludoggy gets really defensive since she's asian and underage (might be 18 now).
Artem is the wayward soul that makes you ponder the meaning of life by constantly reminding us life can suck. But he deals, and so do we. About the same for Savannah, except people are more "AWH!" to her because of a vagina involved.
Dasva is the ex military man (as is Krizz but this doesn't apply to him) who hates the world and plots a way to destroy most of it.
Number2 is kinda like a mix between Cai and I; never bashes, likes to laugh and has odd avatars. His current suits a lot of the convos this LS gets into. Barti is most well known for his moustache. He gives mousatche rides for a fee. I'm missing a few people but whatever. CARRY ON!
