Having a degree should benefit you when it comes to a career. But it's also dependent on the degree. Some fields are just plain flooded (business degrees for example).
Personally, my first degree goal is an associates degree in general education with emphasis in computer science. Translation: Basic courses with most electives being computer related.
A lot of places prefer people to have an associates degree. It doesn't even have to be in a related field. I got rejected for a job because of that. They were willing to waive every other requirement for me. Their HR department just wouldn't do it no matter how much the guy hiring asked them to.

How the hell did they drop 25k on him? Military bonuses *** blow ***, as good as they make them sound. Enlistment bonuses have fine print, medical care has fine print, ANY extra money besides the basic 1200~ a month a T1 gets is alllllll fine print that chances are if you read, you won't sign. Free money isn't ever free. x.x

I haven't passed judgment on the health care debate yet. I believe that if done properly, it can help and be a great thing. We just have to have priorities and think things through. It also has to be run by the correct group.
I currently have health care through the military (Tricare Reserve Select) that I pay for. It's only free while I'm on active duty. It's not a bad system, but it could be better. I'm pretty happy with the cost as well.

We may have voted these past elections, but all candidates are giving false promises just so they can make choices not fully approved by the majority. I don't like politics, and what you are talking about looks like general politic princples. I respect you for your knowledge in this manner, and I won't disagree with you on this either.
What I'm saying is basically this: I don't like how this country is being run. What can I do about it? I can voice my opinion to people who matter. I have already stated that I have done all I can honestly do about this situation.
What else can I do? I can voice my opinion to people who don't matter. That means you guys. We, according to the government's eye, are mindless dribble who vote for them once every 2/4/6 years. Their only job really is to get re-elected.
America desided that it didn't want another 4 years of "Bush policies" so it elected people WAY outside of the "Bush policies." I would have voted for Obama too if it was just based on that priniple. Unfortunally, its not. He made promises that he is going to improve the economy without saying details. McCain said details, but it was "Bush policies" that people didn't like. Now, we have to deal with "Obama policies." I gave you the numbers and facts saying why this is going to fail. There is nothing more I can do to this point.
Its up to you to decypher this and see if this is how you would like the USA to go. My opinions are my opinions, not yours. I didn't grow up the same way you did. I am not living the life you are living. If you want this, then accept it. If you don't want this, then talk to the right people about changing it. Don't re-elect the same people for this job. Have your congressmen fight to block it.
This is my point in it all. I'm not happy, so I'm changing it. If you are not happy either, then you change it too. If you are happy, then don't do anything.

Meh. Only extra bonus I was offered so far was for like...$800, and the fine print said that by agreeing to sign, I comply with them shoving me where ever they see fit, instead of being set to where I signed up for. In reality, what it REALLY said was "We're gonna put you in a job that gets paid $4000 more a year than you, which is triple the work you're doing now, and we're gonna give you only $800 for doing it. kay?"
I guess my record says I read the things offered, don't offer him ***. :/

Do you want another Great Depression to happen? You don't even know how bad it was, and neither do I. I have read what sort of impact it has happened, and although it did bring out the best in people socialwise, it was horrible for us economicwise, and it had to take a war of unimaginable scale to take us out of that depression. I don't see why it can't continue here. We've always been about random chit chat and multiple convos. Just because one of those convos is 'serious' doesn't mean it shouldn't be allowed.

Yes but political talk is more serious talk and with everybody bickering back and forth, I'd rather it be seperate from this thread.
Forcing people to read your opinions instead of putting it somewhere where they can choose to is not the best way to convey an idea and actually expect people to accept or agree with it. lol It's been slowly dragging on since the presidential address, Krizz, so yes it is dying, but furthermore more people than not don't care to hear what Korpg has to say. Hence, the political thread where he can type till his fingers bleed. lol
