FFXIV Beta Ps3

I finished download today and thought I'd be able to play :( sad to see that its only open on weekends! But excited I will get to try it out tomorrow if possible :)

i freaking work all weekend QQ :(

so one question i been trying to get a reply for, so its 12.99 for 1 guy but if you go 14.99 a month you get 40 guys?

I'm interested if this is true too! lol.

I'm really hating having to work the weekend too :( my day's off are Monday and Tuesday.. >_<

I honestly dont think you can possibly dual box in FFXIV :( unless you can hit cure REALLY fast by switching to your other window.

lol i am more thinking use a few as mules and a few other to try out the different races etc which would be fun :) so do you know if its 40 characters for 14.99? xD cause thats what it is making me think by what i am reading on the offical site o.o;

The official page is nice and vague.I -think- for your first month you get only 1 char. Or maybe its some sort of other promotion or something,like a "friend trial code" or something

I think when I can make a character i'm going to go the route of Thaumaturge, and eventually unlock Black Mage!

I'm going ranger all the way..may pick up brd for fun

prob won't be till early next year if i do play but thinking of dragoon and ranger atm :3

yeah i think thats giving estimate of how much it would be a month and how much total it would be after 6 months but i could be wrong xD

Im really confused by the job/class system in this game. Do you have to take a job? can you take a class to level cap? is there sub jobs?

yeah I noticed but its gear was prettier

There is a pretty chart somewhere but i cant find it. for example: marauder30, conjurer15 = paladin
EDIT: There are subjuobs kind of, you can take skills from jobs you have already leveled and equip some of their skills to your main job

When you level a class to 30, you can unlock that class's job as long as some requirements are met. You can level a class all the way to cap without unlocking a job if you wanted to, and they don't gain levels independently. (If you have a level 40 GLD, your PLD will be 40 as well.) Switching from a class to a job is done by simply equipping the key item you obtained from the job unlock quest.

Just thought I should chime in the following:

If you have the old game (1.0, including legacy) you CANNOT get the CE items to that account if you preorder the PC version. The CE items are directly linked to the registration code.

You can preorder the PC CE for the items and a 2nd account (so you can dual box) and then upgrade your 1.0 account for $20 to get the in-game CE items. Total: $90

Or you can preorder the PS3 CE version, get CE items, link your PS3 account to your existing 1.0 account to get the in-game items. Total: $80

1.0 accounts will get the equivalent version of the game free for PC (if you had 1.0 CE you get ARR CE items). 1.0 accounts will not get the preorder items unless you preorder the game and apply the code to the account you wish to receive the them.

If you buy the digital version of the game you do NOT get the real-life items (cd/dvd/cards etc).

Also for those griping about spoonfeeding quests: You can disable the quest tracking and choose how much of the quest information you wish to read.

ok so if I do archer to 50, and i get bard unlocked, my bard will also be 50?

so that means when i unlock a job, it will already be 30?

I really love the idea of that combo for some reason... I guess it's in essence a corsair but with less pirate. God(s) help the server I wind up on if there's a handlebar mustache available.

Yes. They're not separate from each other as far as level, but they do get their own spec points.

ok so, i know you need a class at 30 and another at 15 to unlock a job. is that like a sub job or something or the 15 level job has no affect on the 30 class/job?

Basically after level 30 all Disciples of war or magic gain a "job" those o so familiar names from FF's past, to unlock each job you also need to have the requisite sub class leveled to 15.

This guy covers all the combinations required to unlock each job.


Additionally note as of now each disciple of war and magic have 1 job they advanced to but it has been anounced in the future classes may have additional jobs they can unlock.

Bit of conjecture here however with the addition of arcanist there were also be SMN and SCH all 3 which are book wielding classes and have released a teaser showing all 3 classes to have some form of summoning anyways likely arcanist will be the core base class for both jobs.

That said would be interesting RDM requires Gladiator 30 (more duelist style) and thaumaturge 15 would focus more on enhancing sword with elemental magic rune fencer style <.<

Dark knight requires marauder 30 and Gladiator 15.

Duelist (pistol wielder or perhaps corsair?) requires Arc 30 and... Gladiator 15 (or thaumaturge 15 if more corsair style?)
