Final Fantasy XV
Pretty terrible, a bunch of screenshots and the Dawn 2.0 trailer I linked two days ago...thats 10 minutes of my life I can't get back Kali >.>
Yeah, it's not like they're still talking about characters and story or anything
Luna is a highly revered "oracle," with the ability to talk to the gods. She is the youngest oracle ever.
Luna lives in Tenebrae, a city under Niflheim control that has some autonomy thanks to her role as oracle. Luna is courageous—unfazed, even when surrounded by the Niflheim soldiers, as she possesses extreme inner strength. Luna and Noctis made a promise as children. We aren't saying what yet, but it connects to the story. (FF7 storyline string) In the new artwork of Luna, there is a “black haired woman” behind Luna. Her name is Gentiana and she plays an important role. While riding chocobos, Mr. Suzuki likes to press the jump button again to make it try to stay airborne! Bass pro fishing, what everyone wanted!
So yeah, they show chocobo riding and fishing, lol.
All I have to say is they better have a new trailer for the end of this that shows something other than car rides, camping, and boy band.
They certainly are taking a lot of questions.
30 questions from users will be answerd

T When there's time gap, there'd be loading. But locations are seamlessly connected. --- T We need to polish this seemless issue, though. --- T Now we're very much focusing on development, and difficult to provide trailers. (sorry, mistranslate abit maybe) --- O Contents related to Niflheim should be focused next time. Or Gentiana. (Sorry if I misspelled...) TLDR: No Moogles, no Chocobo Breeding, no Gilgamesh but is possible to add through DLC. 1 free costume change in game, the rest will be DLC. No Dual Audio with release, will have to be DLC, there will be a limit break type ability, area loading is seamless except for startup loading and time changes, trailers have been few because they are working heavily on development of the game.
If airships can't be implemented into main release, they will be additional DLC, but free. So airships won't be important for story, just travel. Well, thanks for translating Kali. Not impressed at all with the information they shared.
ATR Snapshot from Tokyo Game Show 2015
YouTube Video Placeholder FFXV seems to be a Slice of Life FF game based around you exploring the world, gathering food to cook, with a car to help you travel long distances, and a chocobo to help you travel rough terrain, with a story probably squished in.
I've said it for the past year, but I hope they start showing us some Final Fantasy elements to get fans interested. However, without any moogles, only 2 chocobo colors, no Gilgamesh along with I'm sure plenty of other avatars, this game seems to be more Anime than Final Fantasy. Just my thoughts, I'm sure I'm wrong. One last note from the Q&A:
I just want to make sure that Tabata-san said they don't release in-game trailers 'coz they're not satisfied with the quality so far. > Full Recap:
Regis - Regis is older looking because of having to protect Lucis with the magical barrier. - Used to fight with Cor and Cid - Has suit underneath the king outfit (?) - Regis's wife is dead Luna - Oracle/can speak to gods of the world. Youngest one yet. - This allows her to let Tenebrea, her country, to be some what governed. Nifhielm still under control though. - Her assistant is named Gentiana and is important. - Made a promise with Noctis at a young age. Promise unknown. Gameplay - Ariel combat - Arbringer has its own gauge - No airship for final release as of now - Chocobos can be buffed when camped. Faster sprinting and higher jumping. - Weapon switching. Limited to 4 decks. - Noctis does not have a primary weapon and a sub weapon like the other party members do. Instead Noctis can use the sub weapon as a primary weapon instead. Other - World is seamless except for certain story areas. - Car can travel off road but limited. - Alternate costumes. Not sure if only as DLC or there will be some in the main story. We also don't know if we'll be able to equip them on the fly or if it's limited to story segments. - No moogles - Gilgamesh not in. Could be considered for DLC Gilgamesh wasn't in IX in any significant way, he was kind of a hidden character only revealed if you became an S rank Treasure Hunter
We had no moogles in VII and VIII either (at least not as a race) Its disappointing that all they chose to show is some chocobo riding and fishing, and then answer questions. As much as I enjoy the idea of a fishing minigame (haven't enjoyed one since Ocarina of Time) I think they need to turn up the hype train a little bit. This is TGS, after all.
They took a lot of wind out of their sails when they announced they will not reveal the release date until March, and we all know they know the release date right now, they are just making us wait 6 months for no reason. The game should be coming out in March/April. If the fanbase turns up the heat on them, are they really going to end every video with "2016," I doubt it. I think they're trying to hide some of the more interesting details to not spoil the story or surprise of certain areas but it's not working very well for them lol

Hopefully they'll release more interesting stuff at the beginning of 2016, they'll need it to boost their stats for the fiscal year seeing how FFXIV is stagnating. I'm fine with them not wanting to spoil the story, there are plenty of ways to market your game without spoiling the story, if they need help just look at every other developer out there. Honestly I don't even expect the story to be good, 4 guys driving around in a car trying to save the kingdom, typical FF story.
Just give us a release date, if it really is coming out in the Spring, thats going to alleviate so many of the gripes. The game just needs to come out, I don't want to hear in October that its 90-100% completed but its not coming out for another 8 months. I also understand if they don't want it to release next to Star Ocean, and I understand if that game is actually complicating their release calender. Just say that. Who gives a ***about a Resident Evil first person shooter? If they aren't talking about Street Fighter V they aren't talking about anything. That's the issue with plebs and video game conventions, they just want to see a 2min video and a shitty interview that will be published 1/2 days later in a much more complete version on various websites. The point of this TGS is the SFIV tournament and the SFV tests made by the community. I have no idea why you'd even bother with RE in 2015, I didn't even know they were presenting one or not. The SFIV tournament (using PS4 as paperweights, was hilarious) and next year, the SFV tournament, is all there is to pay attention to at TGS every year along with some rare announcements worth paying attention to when the full report of the event is made. Though there's certainly no reason they can't put his name off the beaten path like they had with VIII, IX, XI or even XIV. He's been a badass boss with his own battle theme, a summon, a treasure hunter, comic relief, a samurai pirate integrated in the story, and more. I can only imagine what he could do in future titles. Yeah but his lack of presence certainly isn't a dealbreaker.
Shiva.Viciousss said: » Yeah but his lack of presence certainly isn't a dealbreaker. Definitely not. Though it's a fairly common recurrence in the franchise, so a little restructure and integration would be a nice sense of familiarity; but based on how super-serious the game takes in tone, it certainly seems he is an unnecessary character, and that's fine too.

Quote: Square Enix held a poll over Twitter of whether Final Fantasy XV should have moogles, the series' known mascot character. After a positive response, it was announced today moogles will make a small appearance, but since they are being added so late in development, moogles will not be a big part of the game but more like a fun cameo for fans. Director Hajime Tabata also announced that the pre-beta version of the game is now complete after 6 months of focus on finishing this milestone. He said development is progressing in a good pace and asked fans to look forward to the March event where the release date will be announced, among other new details on the game. |
