It's still sort of the same as the other games with paradigms and such, although I would assume they've been a bit more creative with the battle system since it's one person only, as far as we've seen.

@1:07 - 1:19 that doesnt look like the previous 13 battle system to me. Guess my eyes could be fooling me since there isnt any kind of HUD but like when Lightning cuts of that mobs tail, that looks like hack and slash to me.

Edit: lol well... every time I re-watch it I start to doubt what im saying more and more haha

Well to be fair, you are right in a sense because they didn't show it in there :)

To me the battle system looks like they have moved closer to what the originally showed us for the original XIII

Around 0:45 you can see it seemed a bit more action orientated, most notably it used an AP type system rather than segments of an atb. Since they blocked the interface in this one it is hard to tell but I think they other trailer had the atb with out segments and more like a standard stamina system, same way the AP would have functioned.

I'm not a big critic when it comes to video games, so for sure I'm going to play this game when it comes out next year (if I even have the money to buy it, or if I'm not caught up with 11/14) The only other game that's gotten a "wtf" from me was 12, even though I liked some of the storyline, although I felt it needed to be a bit more... I wasn't fond of the fact that the espers had no importance and needed some sort of criteria for their moves to be used, all the extra endgame content (monster hunts, etc) and how easy the final boss was in 12 and lastly, the gambit system itself. It made the game way to easy in my opinion and got bored easily. lol

I just figured this particular series was doing well enough and it's easier to make a new game using the same or similar platform...

They also made a sequel by request from the fans for 13 originally, but my guess is they did it anywayz cus they knew* that all the content they had figured wasn't gonna fit entirely, so troublesome.

12 wasnt even that bad and had equal flaws to the often deified FFX. Main problem with 12 will be the storyline that collapsed halfway through because of politics at SE.

I liked 12 don't get me wrong lol out of all my friends only me and another person did play thru most of it and even now I haven't even gotten zodiark because the dungeon itself is a pain in the ***! All my char are still around 70-80's (can't remember) and I'm still getting raped in there if I aggro too many mobs while fighting. I liked how it was very free (battlefield wise) you don't gotta walk 5 steps to get that annoying BGM playing and you can just runaway. Overall tho, with all games they all have their likes/dislikes. I loved X-2 btw, even though it was very cheesy at times, Yuna felt like she was so obsessed with her man that she had to look like him... xD
