{Hmmm.} (DNC Gear Q's)

Alright, so, I've been playing around with my DNC a lot recently and one very large question has come to mind:
Is it worth it to stack STR on DNC for WSs?
Adding it all up, overall, we don't get very much.

Right now on DNC I have a base STR of 62 and a base DEX of 76.

I'll go ahead and go over my gear for Dancing Edge, since it's obviously what I use most... I'm missing a few things off my ideal set.

Current Dancing Edge setup:
Main: Azoth
Off-hand: Ermine's Tail
Ranged: War Hoop (want: Black Tathlum)
Head: Enkidu's Cap/Etoile Tiara (want: Gnadbhod's Helm)
Neck: Chiv. Chain (I know, I know... Stupid Argus)
Ear 1: Delta Earring
Ear 2: Brutal Earring
Body: Etoile Casaque
Hands: Enkidu's Mittens
Ring 1: Flame Ring
Ring 2: Rajas Ring
Back: Forager's Mantle/Etoile Cape
Waist: Warwolf Belt
Legs: Etoile Tights/Dancer's Tights (+1 Yespls)
Feet: Etoile Toe Shoes

For STR, I'd go:
Back: Forager's Mantle
Legs: Etoile Tights
Feet: Dancer's Toe Shoes +1 (need ; ;)

For DEX:
Ring 1: Iota/Thunder Ring
Waist: Cuchulain's Belt
Legs: Oily Trousers
Feet: Enkidu's Leggings

Overall: Cuchulain's Mantle worth the gil? Iota vs Thunder?

Gnadbhod's Helm for a 1 hander multi hit is rather poor tbh.
I'd use a acc belt over Warwolf too, though dnc lacks in STR it lacks even more in acc, due to its low dagger skill.
Cuch mantle on dnc isn't -really- worth it unless you really have that much gil, since DE is CHR/DEX the Etoile Cape works very nicely.

DNC DE is Acc > Dex > Str really, as is most 1 hand WSs.

i macro in af2 body, af2 head, potent belt, 2 triumphs (no brutal yet), and 2 flames. dmg does seem to go up for me.
i don't really expect my numbers to be huge, but every little bit helps.
so, yes i would macro in some str gear and some acc gear for WS.
My full ws set is;
AF2 Head, AF2 Body, Denali Hands (nothing else to use!), AF2 legs, AF2 Feet, PCC (fulltimed), Potent belt, 2 Flames, 2 triumphs, and AF2 cape.
I generally go for more acc on dnc than anything. I'm sure that setup stucks to some ppl but w/e! :3

Ancient Torque > PCC, 1 piece does it all if you have a shell that can get it or can afford one. Does a DNCer good =)

Considering you have Oily Trousers listed (alos one of my fav pieces) Ancient Torque shouldn't be a far cry for you.

more most multihit ws...ACC is in most of my slots for almost any job. I may macro in a STR headpiece and some STR rings but aside from that..most of it is acc and i seem to do just fine in dmg.

I'd have to agree here, based on theory, but I don't know anyone that's tested it out.

Hmmm... good point but I think it's a toss up. Too lazy to do the math atm but you consider 1 skill = 1 acc so it's 7acc + the 2.5ish acc from the DEX so it's roughly 9.5 acc versus the 9 straight acc + 2 acc from DEX from the ancient which is 11

so 9.5 vs. 11 on acc but yeah you factor in the 7 attack from the skill on top from the hope torque and the slightly higher mod for WS and crit rate being 1 DEX.

Somebody throw the math together and double check mine. Think the Hope Torque would actually edge out the Ancient just given the numbers so good point there Shiela.

Just don't think LS would let me snake a Love Torque to test with on my DNC considering everything I've already snagged for it + Novio for my blm off JoL =/

WS gorget will outdo anything but a Love Torque and Ancient Torque situationally~

But yeah, take DEX over STR anytime on Dancing Edge. It provides side benefits of accuracy and WSC through DEX doesn't cap like fSTR from STR eventually does. DEX and STR add about the same amount of raw damage point for point too.
