I need advice...
If you went to the police about this girl's death... I don't know. I'm not a cop, but that would sound mighty mysterious to me that YOU were messaging her when you were not her friend.

I messaged her like a year ago. She only replied recently.

I would have called the police or school's psychologist from the drinking and his dealings with the females. We always want to help that one person but it's best to leave it up to the professionals.
If you have any documents that can help with the investigation, I would notify the police. Was it a suicide or murder? I still find it strange that the woman did not seem to communicate with you much. Jetackuu said: » Who's Jake, and why wouldn't your mother sleep with him? I think he may have accidently given away Ted's real name. :) Thanks for sharing the story Shinobu. Any news articles about the girl online? As others have suggested, tip the police so that they can at least investigate Ted has a possible suspect. I'm curious to know the status of the investigation. Sorry you had to deal with all that crap, it must have been very stressful. 500 gil on Michelle Manalansan.
You can contact the police, but they will only take it at face value because anyone can call make allegations. Black out drinking is not a tangible offense...neither is being creepy. If that were the case most men would have a file for consistently starring at women's boobs while intoxicated. Unless the person has actually done something tangible other than wiggle his tongue or stare there's not much the authorities can do and as far as a university...it's a longer process. Look at recent cases...james holden had a file and the school knew he was one rejection away from doing something stupid and the school hand it's hand's tied.

I don't really wanna release details about it because in the end, this is a pretty big stretch and I don't wanna risk someone from the site contacting her family or something and being like "this guy on the internet thinks some guy names Ted killed her." If something does end up happening I'll let you guys know. Thanks for the support everyone, I've been kind of freaked out since the e-mail. Especially due to the part where I probably next if I'm not just crazy... Dude that was a *** up story. Talk to the police as soon as humanly possible. That's crazy crazy ***and that dude needs to be stopped if it was him. There is no harm in saying "Excuse me officer, I have a really odd story I want you guys to look in to." It's not filing a false police report or anything if they just take a statement.

But yes, definitely tell the police of what you think about Ted. Maybe even just show them this description? Maybe even just show them this description? I'm definitely looking into the whole thing, I'll be making the call when I get home tonight. In the end though, even if I am 100% off, at least whenever I tell people about my old roommate, I have something to show them. I'm surprised so many people read the entire thing, I was worried it was too much text! Sylph.Shinobu said: » Especially due to the part where I probably next if I'm not just crazy... Regardless as others have said definitely make your statement to the police, if you really are worried for your self do your best to keep in contact with people you know so they know where you are just as a safety net. Could even find someone to stay with if you feel the need. Probably better to be on the paranoid side than it turn out to not be paranoia. Ya, I definately agree with this, I wouldn't be alone anymore than necessary until you are confident that he is not a threat to you. And, as said, posting on a public site could trigger something if he is indeed fixated on or targetting you in any way. Whoa, I'd call the police just to be safe...
Glad to hear you're filing a statement with the police. Better safe than sorry.
You mentioned a memorial service for the girl. If the service is open to the public (or, more likely, open to your campus' student body), you may want to consider going. Assuming her cause of death has been determined, you may find out more about it there. Be safe, and here's hoping you have better luck with your future roommates! The court of public opinion is amazing and interesting.
I'm really stuck on someone sleeping with a loaded gun under their pillow for safety - irony being a billion times more fun than exaggeration - and virtually no action being taken, contrasted with "someone that was lab partners with someone else (who is creepy as hell, granted) is now dead so it's probably him because I haven't seen his brother around, time to call the police." Screw it, though: if you're scared, you're scared. If nothing else, it's a good lesson to everyone that if they want their private lives to remain private - illegal or not - don't be creepy, because you never know when you might wake up the subject of a murder investigation. Seriously, though - do what makes you feel better. I mean that free from sarcasm. If you're right, yay. If you're wrong and nothing happens, whatever. If you're wrong and this guys' life gets flipped upside down, better his personal life than your actual life, I guess. Just remember that he's creepy and it will be easier to forget. I think if this happened to me, it would be the one time i actually go out and buy a gun >.>;
good luck man, i honestly don't know what to say other than have some kind of protection for yourself. Cops can only do so much tbh. Call the police.
Have a meeting with your dean and have them take precautions over people that may have reported "Ted" or complained. Never go out alone from now on. Never stay in a location alone. Be aware of your surroundings etc at all times. But yes, contact the authorities about your beliefs and definitely see if you can get a detail on your address. Take all the precautionary measures possible. also: as Ghal said, buy a weapon (but please learn to shoot it >_> I the gun control advocate wouldnt advise this otherwise,but ***is serious) It's still pretty crazy. I can't believe how much you put up with this guy. ><
Strange situation, to say the least. I rarely make it past the first few paragraphs but that was a good read. I would commence the book writing now, get the interviews and details while they're fresh. You've found your calling, True Crime, go!
Although as an attempted Journalism major, I'm fairly serious about that but in complete seriousness, you should contact the police. As was said, giving up the FB exchanges with the girl would show a direct link and most likely get the ball rolling. Also... Jetackuu said: » Who's Jake, and why wouldn't your mother sleep with him? I do hope you keep us posted as the events unfold, if you're not crazy that is... Before jumping to conclusions about Ted's older brother and the girl though, make sure you find concrete proof that she was actually murdered and not just involved in a freak accident or something.
If you're concerned for your own safety, make sure you take basic proper precautions and whatnot. A small, sturdy, blunt object in your pocket can be used for self-defense. Keep eyes and ears open for now and see if any more evidence points out your concerns to be true. I'd also advise to tell your roommates who also were involved with Ted while he was there to stay vigilant as well. Welp everyone else has said what I would of said already. Either way, that was a good read and id definitely find someone to look it over and give their opinion on it after this all blows over.
Call the police. You're wrong? So what, maybe they check "Ted" out, perhaps even get him so real professional help. You're right? You may prevent more murders.
To be completely honest, I was expecting a walk the dinosaur/monster mash/fresh prince ending. Turns out you were serious, but I'd definitely call the police, give an anonymous tip if you want. "Mysterious Death" to me seems as though the media just wasn't allowed to disclose what kind of death it was, homicide, suicide, or freak accident. The Police can actually use any noted behavioral patterns witnessed by Shinobu and his room mates in order to track this creeper down to interrogate him. Granted his behavior is outwardly and inwardly destructive on a whole new scale, and can't be used to indict him on murder charges, they can use it as a reason to put him into a psychiatric ward for his protection, as well as the general public.
There have also been "freak accidents, mysterious mdeaths, and no foul-play" involved events that turn out to be sophisticated, well planned murders. You can argue and say i've watched too much crime drama, but they are high possibilities.
