yeah, I have to re-install FFXI now because of Seekers Of Adoulin. I can't even be bothered now.

Why would an install delete random files...? That sucks!
I bought both the EU Abyssea Collection last year and Adoulin from gamesplanet, aside from waiting for the maintenance everything works fine here!
Installs generally just put files in but it's possible to remove old files or replace other files with an install.
When you said it won't even boot up, at what point does it fail? Have you done a file check already? Or did you install with sandboxing on?

anyone else having my problem? says i havent got final fantasy installed on the pc? downloaded the digital copy registered my code on the SE management site all that went well but when it got to the actual installing part gets up to screen where its about to install it & then comes up with a message saying "Final fantasy 11 isnt installed please install final fantasy 11 then retry" something along those lines.

when I click on windower and POL client it doesn't even start.

I have restarted my PC, and I have also done a system restore, and yes I mean vanilla pol.
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling POL? Be sure you get the right version when you do it though.

I downloaded the SoA expansion from the download that was posted last night on this site... i installed it... didn't have my CD Key until earlier this morning... but when i installed it the game gave me the notification that everyone is freaking out about... after i clicked ok it let me back on the game with no problem... when my CD key arrived this morning in my email i went to the SE account and put it in and everything works fine... the only thing is I think the unlock key is for (that they said will be sent to me later) is to unlock the .zip/.rar file... since i haven't actually downloaded my own expansion just used the one that someone posted on here.

I'm downloading it right now, I logged in at 5pm earlier and didn't get anything (I didn't have the expansion installed at the time). Is this an old update from earlier today then that only shows up once you install the expansion? It's in the "checking" process at 14,000 DAT files checked and still only 40% done.
Okay, so I can now boot into POL, but now I have an error pop up when I try updating the game.. >< (POL-1158).

Oh, that's the expansion.
So using the FFXI Ultimate Adoulin pack or whatever, if i keep clicking next next next will there at some point be an option to install Adoulin only? Too nervous to go further...
So after using the SoA installer, I tried logging back in only to be stuck installing 30k files... And I'm still only at 88% in the preparing update screen.
Is this happening to everyone?

Im installing on xbox360 and mine is making it to about 60% on the preparing update stage, then it says please check network, and it cancels the update =(

Have any of you attempted to put in your chocobo jacket code? I did, and it says my code has expired... I'm either screwed, or it is just what SE has for a message, when a code is entered before the update happens, I guess? Any ideas?
Yes. I did this. It brings up a menu that shows all the expansions, and only Adoulin will be checked, if you have the rest already installed. I was nervous as well, but it worked quickly and easily, in the end.

Not sure if this was answered or not yet here, but I too wasn't sure where to go to find the download if you purchased it from SE Store. Off of a hunch, I went to http://www.findmyorder.com and logged in using email and last 5 of credit card for purchase and BAM! There is the download link! Way to go for DL instructions SE...

I had the same thing happen to me and right when i was about submit a return, i was able to find a different product key on the refund page, so i logged into my account and said "what the hell" and tried it, it worked!
Steps: Digitalriver.com > Contact Us > Click the blue bar "Click here if you have a question about an order" > find your order > scroll down and select the green button "request a return"
It'll bring up your product you purchsed and you should see a product key.( SERIAL_NUMBER ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- )
