For the Shinies! A Guide for Thief
Is that with capped attack and uncapped?
Ishvara is (always) going to beat (any) attack+ earring, Mache+1 is (probably always) going to beat (any) attack+ earring, but it will be pretty close.
(Is tati+1 still the best attack earring lol, that's what I compared it to) A Kuwunga Earring actually would beat mache+1, if you had madrigal on... with uncapped attack Offline

Sup. If you are having terrible luck getting a good pair of samnuha tights what is the next best option for tp? The guide says meghanada +2 pants but pillager's culottes +3 look pretty good unless there is something else? Herculean? can get some extra store tp on em. Also how close are dedition and telos earring? Thanks.

Pill. Culottes +3 are quite good, and should you need the accuracy and/or additional defensive stats, are better than Samnoha.

af+3 might win anyways if you're not using vahjra, very good piece.
also great defensive stats like kyte mentioned Siren.Kyte

I have seen them win on the spreadsheet even on fodder with Aeneas, though I don't 100% trust that result.
The reason you see that (and it's very small) is dropping Double Attack for more Triple Attack and Crit damage.
Triple attack damage + has become more important since anyone really ran numbers Siren.Kyte

I fully understand why I see it.
Then whats not to trust. If you trust the numbers w/ tights you should equally trust w/ af3.
Just numbers, they're both right, or both wrong. Siren.Kyte

Saying "it wins because there's a difference in stats" is not particularly insightful.
I don't fully trust it because the spreadsheets tend to overvalue TP phase damage a little bit, and given that the difference is quite small in favor of the item that would tend to increase white damage more than the other, there's reason to think the ordinal result may be incorrect when considering Aeneas main/Twashtar offhand. On the flipside, I do also think that no matter what, you're not really doing yourself a disservice by saying *** it and just fulltiming them for TP, partly due to the defensive difference. Siren.Kyte said: » I don't fully trust it because the spreadsheets tend to overvalue TP phase damage a little bit This is interesting. I don't know specifically how these spreadsheets work but I would think it would be the opposite. In that you can make a spreadsheet assume perfect WS frequency, even when that's not always how things play out in the game. So I would think spreadsheets would undervalue TP phase damage. But I'm interested in learning how the spreadsheets could be messing this up. The spreadsheet overvalues everything. It's not just white damage. It just wasn't worth debating.
It's never even close to actual in game values, and I run it VERY conservative. The specific point of contention (for this) is over-tp rounds. It's set to assume you are human, and you will not tp perfectly. aka; too many white damage swings. (but you can adjust that) ((it still won't be perfect)) If you leave the base settings to .5 over rounds, AF3 > Samnuha by ~9 DPS If you set it to 0 overtp rounds, Samnhua > AF3 by 3 dps Those are both close enough to say they're exactly identical dps tbqh Offline

This is rather amazing. You're bringing this up out of nowhere, you're bringing up things from 2005, AND you're not even properly remembering those things from 2005, lol. I never said I "deserved" all the currency from Dynamis, I said two different things: 1) It makes more sense for LS sponsorship to finish one weapon so that it can help farm more currency going forward, i.e. since we had 3 main Dynamis sponsors it would make sense to finish one of them so that the weapon would allow the other two to complete faster, which makes it so all 3 weapons are built quicker that way. 2) Relic staff is a waste of currency, don't be a *** idiot Tahn. BTW, my Gandring is rank 25, I use it for things, and I'm already sitting on plenty of gil for whenever I feel like buying some more +2 necks. While you're here salty about things from 2005, rofl. What boulevard of broken dreams did you stumble down that made that sharp 180 turn happen. Non-upset of the century is this 225lb guy playing a mithra. We got a guy in our ls that would love to meat you, where you at Darkiori. He likes his bears. so let me get this straight...

To be fair I think they're referring to back in 2005 and only 3 ppl were paying the (then expensive) entry fee

No, and I wasn't specific about which relic to finish, either. We had a NIN and 2 THF that were trading sponsorship for runs. My argument was simply one of us finishing would be better than all of us taking over a year to finish at the rate we were going. Eventually we all just took over a year, lol. I don't remember this being a major point of contention, so I'm surprised someone I don't remember even knows of it. Boshi said: » To be fair I think they're referring to back in 2005 and only 3 ppl were paying the (then expensive) entry fee This is correct. The main LS I had at that time had 3 regular Dynamis sponsors, so whoever paid the 1mil got all the currency from that run. You would /random for who got to sponsor the next run with you being unable to sponsor two runs in a row. You'd be surprised how long panties can stay bunched up
Far as that "scenario" it would've been a perfectly logical reason to stop alternating sponsorship, that's just silly. Finishing one (back then) would've been a large time increase to successive relics. but never try to talk logic with an ffxi player. It's easier to convince a brick wall to fall down with your forehead as the primary method of communication. Offline

In the end it's likely for the best they didn't do it because the relic curse was a real thing. I remember helping the NIN finish his, and he stuck around to finish mine, but I think we both quit rather shortly after. Granted I quit because WotG was pretty trash and was already getting bored with the game, but finishing the relic may have impacted that. |
