HALP! FFXI All The Chars Are Invis <,<

So my brother bought a new PC with windows 8 for his wife a basic PC so she can play 11. well when we load it up and start FFXI all the NPC/chars are invis and they dont come back even the char in the select screen is invis <,< soooo if anyone knows something that may help thx! also drivers are update to date ok graphics its brad new PC;

Check for a corrupt file

May have to turn on that graphics stabilizer as well. In the FFXI config. :o

I had this problem after updating the Intel HD 4000 graphics driver. After rolling it back to one version earlier characters all came back without issue. I didn't read through the threads that others have linked, but specific version numbers can probably be found in those threads since they're probably the same ones I looked at and found the answer in.
