Goku Vs. Superman

Well, you have to invent some reason for Superman to win. Superman may be the more powerful opponent, but it's hard to call him the clear winner when Goku's winning battle plan can be summed up as simply as this:

1. Instant transmission
2. Pick up glowy, green rock
3. Instant transmission
4. Present glowy, green rock to Superman
5. Win

Goku has a family so he definitely has more reason to not destroy the Earth than Superman. So the villain would obviously be Superman, and thus, Goku would win the fight.

The common misconception with Kryptonite is that most people assume that all you have to do it bring Supes near it and it suddenly kills him or something. This was and always has been an exaggeration of movies and TV shows. Why? Because you only have XXXX amount of time to get your story and point across.

In reality it takes a long period of time for it to weaken Superman and put him into a coma. And even then all it does it cause him to lose his invulnerability, he still retains his speed, strength, etc.

Superman was stabbed by Kryptonite on an island made of said Kryptonite and was still able to pick up the island and throw it into the Sun. Kryptonite has a deadly effect yet it takes a while to do any significant damage. Heck even his home planet is made out of Kryptonite at its core, they LIVED on the thing. And doing so only gave a few of them cancer before the entire planet blew up.

So what is Goku going to do, drag the fight out for several hours? If I was Superman I would fly away and take a nap. I love Dragonball and all, and I personally think Vegeta or Buu should be the one facing Superman just because ethics wouldn't come into play, however Goku has not and never will be the one out of the entire DB universe to bring the fight to Superman.

Even his latest movie proves he is his own worst enemy, Frieza once again kills everyone because he *** around too much during fights and drags them out longer than they need to be. A freaking bullet from a lacky killed him, it's just never going to happen guys.

Superman can hold his breath, fly out of the atmosphere and watch as Goku suffocates to death. Frieza tried the same ***but Frieza doesn't know what 5 minutes is so.....

Goku tgets revived by the Dragonballs after training for 55 episodes not including filler, shows up and kamehamehas Superman into the Sun. Both later meet up with Naruto for the happy hour ramen dinner.

But then Luffy crashes the party and eats ALL the food in one giant bite

This is the exact opposite of what you would want to happen. LOL Unless said Sun is of the Red variety. Also Goku has used up all his wish revivals, they had to turn back time for this last one. -.-

Question for DB fans, which character do you think would be willing to exploit the Kryptonite ring Batman used to kill Superman? (Happened in '91 I think in a 'what if' issue where Superman became a totalitarian ruler of Earth in the year 2001).

Any of the villains would (Except for Cell, I don't think he would). As for the good guys using that ring I'd go with Yamcha. Maybe Krillin also because he is weak and he knows it and this makes him act cowardly at times (until he inevitably panics and charges in, getting himself killed needlessly)

Everyone left out a major factor in this debate. Even though I respect Superman and am a BIG DBZ fan.

Goku is a professional, if not, the best Martial Art Fighter in the universe, he has technique and style, much like Batman(except Batman is human). On the other hand, Superman fights with brute force and we all know and learned that brute force can only take you so far in fighting.

Pretty sure batman taught the rest of the justice league martial arts

I like Goku more than Superman, however it's stated that Superman also practiced some kind of physical Kryptonian martial art along with a mental martial art to resist mind control and whatnot.

That was only his home worlds martial arts. Goku's martial arts is far more diverse than that of only 1 world.

Superman didn't start a family. In fact he had to ditch his GF or lose his power. He chose power instead of love. That is one of the major precursors of a villain...

Goku would fight anyone strong enough that seems like a challenge.
Superman often holds back and would consider the whole thing a reason to cut loose.

Or we could just say these two are participating in a charity sparring match. For little orphan namekian...people.

He also flew into sun to stabilize it to make sure the universe and earth did not get destroyed. Please explain how that is driving him towards the side of "villian".

That has nothing to do with the fact he ditched his one true love to retain his power.
Doing a good deed does not mean you don't have the potential to turn evil at some point.

If you're going to use that criteria to call Supes a villain, Goku has villained up a number of times.

The guy who knocks up his wife, dies repeatedly and doesn't seem to give a *** about his kids because FIGHTING. It's so bad, Vegeta looks like an all-star dad in comparison.

For the sake of motivation to fight. If one needs to be a villain for the hero to go all out. The likely villain would be Superman. If that role were reversed, Goku would still win because kryptonite. Either way: kryptonite.

Lest you all forget, Goku died of a stroke/heart attack/fatal plot disease.

If it wasn't for time travel shenanigans this fight wouldn't even happen. Goku lost to cheeseburgers and an awful diet. Just remember that.
