There are plenty of other good macc earrings, so I wouldn't worry about using Moonshade for that.
Ok, thanks. Attack/TP Bonus it is, then!

Moonshade Earring advice

I think he uses Brutal and Ravagers for WS (Might be wrong on that), so I guess he would switch out Ravager's for Moonshade in WS for Ukkos Fury? Yeah I'm 50k tokens from finishing Ryunohige. I have R/M/E on BRD and even with the polearm I think I would still be on BRD 90% of the time. Is it worthwhile to change out my macc/refresh Moonshade for Attack/TP bonus?
If you care enough about it to make a Mythic then yes, tailor your Moonshade to it.

Until you start seeing earrings with str+10 attack +25 (etc) it'll pretty much come out on top on WSs that scale with TP. Conversely if you're WS does not scale with TP, then its pretty much useless. Hijack
i got moonshade with refrsh and macc for my whm mule. i will soon be working on his brd job and pimp that out. i read that you dont like the macc +4 agu ment. what else do you prefer for a backline cure/buff mule ? The slot 1 augments are universally unimpressive, you might as well keep the macc.

For a Refresh Earring, I would actually say that MACC is the way to go. While very unimpressive (and not worth sacrificing attack on a TP bonus earring), it's at least decent for a few spells you spells you may be casting. Cerberus.Kylos said: » Yes I thought I read that somewhere. Why is Regain so bad, and TP Bonus so good? If the Regain worked while you were idling, it would be excellent, but as it is it isn't meaningfully different than Store TP. For two-hand jobs, you're shooting for an X-hit as it is, and once you attain it you're getting so much TP per swing the regain from moonshade doesn't meaningfully contribute to your WS frequency. For dualwielders, you already have excellent earring options in Suppa/Brutal. I have heard of Regain earrings for ForeverMNK, but otherwise it doesn't really have a place, especially since TP Bonus gives such a huge single-slot boost for so many jobs (including MNK). Maybe something is not clicking right...also necro-bumpage, but its relevant to my interests...but explain to me why TP Bonus +25 is in anyway worth a slot?
My understanding of TP Bonus +25 is that it when you weaponskill, it acts as if you have 25 more TP. So that means you can reach a tier 2 TP modifier at 175 TP. That may be fine if all you do is stand to the side, meditate or gain tp in some fashion, then run in, ws, and run back out. However, if you are a main DD in the thick of the fight then a 25 point bonus to your TP doesn't seem like something to get all hyped about. What about the "Occasionally grants dmg bonus based on TP +5%"? Has anyone checked that augment out? What does it mean, and do? Does it mean that if you do a 1k dmg ws at 117 TP, you get a bonus of 50 (5% of 1000) extra damage? Unless I'm mistaken it boosts crit rates for WS's like Ukko's, Hi, Drakesbane, and others and just boosts damage for Shoha. So it's pretty fantastic for a lot of ws's.

Some WS(The ones that say damage/crit varies with TP) are affected linearly with increases to TP, so for those, +25TP is a direct increase to the WS or crit rate of said WS. Ive wondered that my self. Thank you for the info. A tip of the hat to you, good sirs/madams/whatever-you-may-be's.

My jobs are DRK THF BST and COR. My DRK is my main, so the Regain looks nice, but there might be other gear that beats it (bare in mind I am still working on Empyreans before I begin doing Voidwatch regularly) so I am not sure whether it would be a waste. I feel it would be fairly useless to a THF or BST, but without searching through tons of older posts, I cannot be completely sure. My Corsair is still a work in progress, and will start using it in VW when I get my Armageddon. I am grateful for any advice, before I head over to Grauberg and finish this storyline. Thanks! Kylos, how long did it take you to finish the story? And can it be done solo? Quetzalcoatl.Mnkk said: » I have no idea what the "occasionally adds dmg" earring does when it activates. I've wondered that my self. After skimming the link Decimus gave (I always forget about bluegartr), and a lot of searching using various terms, I found out someone has indeed tried it. http://www.bluegartr.com/threads/101128-Wings-of-the-Goddess-Missions-December-2010-Update/page8 Looks like it affects your regular melee hits more instead of your weaponskills. The more TP you have, the more damage you get when it procs. The maximum the person testing got was double the damage on a proc at 300 TP, from the looks of it. Nice premise, especially if it stacks with Sekkanoki, but looks like overall the TP Bonus+25 does indeed win out. Now to just figure out which of the first augments I want. Almost done with WoTG.
Definitely getting TP Bonus for augment2. How would the acc4 vs attk4 fair? Like would the 4 acc even pull ahead on higher tier mobs? Kylos, how long did it take you to finish the story? And can it be done solo? Didn't take as long as I thought it would. Me and my dad blasted through the missions in a couple of weeks. We wasn't doing it every single hour of every day though, could be easily done in a few days if you know what you're doing. You do need to wait sometimes for next Vana'Diel day and stuff like that. Can be soloed by a BST, not sure about other jobs. Also completed my Armageddon since this writing. Extremely easy to do on BST, even easier to do if you can find some people to red proc NMs for you. |
