It feeds their ego and convinces them that they really are better than everyone around them.

Who would of thought it. Republicans and immature teens having so much in common.

The first movie does the book no justice as it fails to portray the message from the novel.

Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead are two misunderstood books. These books are not saying to stomp on those in need but conversely, not to handcuff people that are at the top of their industries (IE: surgeons, inventors, business leaders, etc.) because these people are essentially bettering life for everyone.

Ben Franklen
"When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic."

William Boetker
"You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot help small men by tearing down big men. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot lift the wage-earner by pulling down the wage-payer. You cannot help the poor man by destroying the rich. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot establish security on borrowed money. You cannot build character and courage by taking away men's initiative and independence. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves."

So...trickle down economics?

Isn't this the entire theme of this year's election?

You're talking about ending the Bush era tax cuts, right?

Let's see what Bill Boetker thinks:

In one column there are the small, weak, wage-earner, poor, troubled, cowardly, ignoble, hapless men.

In the other column there are the big, strong, wage-payer, rich, stable, brave, noble, independent men.

What sort of drivel is this?

Quote:
In 1972, Albert S. Ruddy approached Rand to produce a cinematic adaptation. Rand agreed that Ruddy could focus on the love story. "That's all it ever was," Rand said. link
