Now tell me those doing it aren't trying to catch people out hiding them inbetween, SCAM!!
What's your point? There isn't anything misleading about this. The two types of currency are clearly identified. The information is there if you take the time to read it.

A 1 byne bill will never reasonably sell for anywhere near a 100 byne bill. The reasoning, the logic, behind pricing an item similar to an item of a similar name is inherently opportunistic. If you want to feign blindness, that's fine, but it's not re-affirming a point. It's a scam, it's dishonest, it works. The only reason people have to decry this is for their own profit.

Is this the thread where I'm supposed to feign ignorance to the true motives of people bazaaring overpriced currency in order to rationalize my own practice of intentionally misleading people in a video game?
...No?

I think it's noticeable enough, but if you're only looking for the icon then it can be misleading. That is why I think the borders will help for players who just look at the icons then the price.

I'm quite aware of the argument, but I haven't seen an original thought in quite awhile. It's been page after page of the same arguments.

It's only deceptive if you can't count... and can't read...
If you're drunk or rushing you're not absolved from being categorically stupid...
It's not like these "scammers" are taking label makers posting 100 over the 1 or tacking on two extra 0's to mislead.
If you can read you can avoid making a mistake.
In other news... where's my bazaar fix?!?!?! I just bought a single item for the price of a stack again!

One could argue that they are being smart and taking advantage of an opportunity.
You can be both stupid and smart overpricing and tricking others, but you can't be smart if you make the purchase, only stupid.
Not that I'm saying people are stupid for making the mistake once or twice, but it happens enough that there are stupid buyers out there.

Doesn't make you stupid, just careless.
Agreeed if you did it over and over that could be classed as stupid.I don't know anyone, personally, who has done this more than once.

If you do it once or twice it's careless, if you make the mistake often it's a bit more than just careless.

Call it careless if people were drunk or trying to conduct a transaction with laggy internet, a prudent person wouldn't risk making a mistake under those circumstances
It is sheer stupidity if those conditions don't exist. As repeated previously the transaction isn't instant the minute you click on an item in bazzar. The default position is on cancel, and even when the option to buy appears you still have to make a conscious decision to move the cursor up to hit buy. That's the safeguard there...

SE could easily fix this issue though.
They could simply make them an item you can purchase off the AH, or they could make a prompt if single currency is priced over 100k.
I don't think SE needs to be doing more work though to fix this issue, I think the borders are more than enough to help players.

I think it is opportunistic and dishonest; however, in most cases it shouldn't be considered a scam. It's more of an issue of morality than anything else.

I call it careless if you do it once, because there can be many reasons for not focusing properly, apart from being drunk. For example, something might be happening irl that distracts you for a second and you hit purchase while not fully concentrating.I personally would not call it sheer stupidity, not for once anyway.

It's not really the same thing but it's like saying Bernard Madoff did his thing right and the people who got trapped are stupid.
I didn't know how to show you that scamming is wrong.

Actually I do believe the people Madoff ripped off were stupid... because the returns being offered weren't sustainable if you did the HW.
However in that case the fraud perpetrated was undeniable given the extreme lengths Madoff went to in hiding what he was doing.
To compare Madoff to the current issue being debated is wrong. Here all the information you need for an informed decision regarding the transaction is available at a glance. That was totally not the case w/ respect investors dealing with Madoff.
