Hello AHers. I'm sure those of you that post on a frequent level here are aware that our beloved Tigerwoods had his bike stolen recently, and the gap of time between school starting and a solution is beginning to narrow.
As much as we'd all like to get back at the *** that stole his bike, a realistic solution is to simply get him a new one by whatever means necessary. So I ask you fellow posters to extend your charity and help a brother out by donating whatever you can to: Tee_Freeman88@yahoo.com

Oh def, lol, not making that mistake again. Writing down and taking pics of the serial number, taking pictures and video footage with me on the bike
Take a picture with your face near the serial number. Print out the picture. Put it in an envelope, along with the reciept. Mail said envelope to yourself. Do not open the envelope. If the bike gets stolen, go to the police station, file a report, and open the envelope in front of them. with the postage and date on the envelope(done by none other then the US government) that should be all the evidence you need to prove the bike is yours!
With that said, republicbikes.com (I think) makes some nice custom road bikes in the 350-450 range, depending on how much you end up saving. And I love mine.

Good idea on the picture thing. Looking at some used bikes though for the time being. Looking for extremely local since I need right away. Would probably not come in time if I ordered online
Looking at these two tonight, the same guy is selling both of them. Sag says they're pretty much equal component wise, so just comes down to which looks more sexy, provided they are in the same condition.

They look almost identical feature/shape wise.. So really comes down to color preference, I prefer red over blue. Red one's seat looks kinda scruffed up though..
I'd say blue is lower profile and sticks out less to the eyes of a potential thief. Just want to mitigate future incidences. Red is more sexy, but for passive security purposes I'd get blue.
True, though the bike I just got stolen looked identical to the blue one, but orange (and smaller sized tire, hated that)

Yea, just have to find something that is decent length and strong. A lot of places I go to don't even have a bike rack and I have to lock up to a giant post or a tree, etc. Rather large things.

If you have a dremel or something like that, you can etch your name in to the metal somewhere. Nemesio's idea is pretty solid though.
