It's more or less the old rift between PC gamers and Console gamers. If you've grown up with one the other is less favorable.
I use a hybrid style, I think. I use a controller on my PC for movement, macro execution, and targeting(the big winner for me). I played XI on a PC for years but I found targeting with the D-pad rather than tab/shift+tab to be much more efficient for me. Obviously, keyboard for typing, but for things like anything I don't have on macro ctrl+M, ctrl+J, or F8 are really handy.
For any hardcore controller users~
I use ventrilo often and I even have the trigger on the controller set for push-to-talk. It's really nice being able to move with full control while speaking. Additionally I have the right trigger set as Alt+Tab which means I don't even have to take my hands off the control when I dualbox.

Everything feels much smoother with a controller and typing has never been an issue, just drop the controller in my lap for a sec then pick it back up without skipping a beat; but after several years I guess you could get used to anything.
but at the same time, anything a person feels most familiar with will feel "smoother" Kinda my point of saying after several years one could get used to anything.
But as Kali said, the KB feels more jerky and unnatural when you're moving since with analog you can adjust walking/turning speed by the amount of tilt applied.

Anyway, it doesn't matter.

Maybe I read the notes too fast, but I don't see anything about the nizzle lamps being changed.

Eh, I have had friends who played a crapload of PC games growing up give me a rough time about my not being good at wasd movement or aiming with a mouse and what not. Either way there is a rift between people who favor PC controls/controllers or this topic wouldn't have sprung up.

I feel like I have more control of my character and camera with analog sticks than with button that aren't always lined up quite right. I will admit that playing with a controller has some disadvantages. With a keyboard you can go from movement and gameplay to chat very quickly and back again but with a controller you can have a chat open and typing and continue to control your character's movement, which I find to be awesome. With a controller you cannot hit as many macros quite as fast with one but between spellcast and optimal macro placement I've streamlined things pretty well. Hell, I dual box on a controller and manually do most everything on my own. No cure bot or auto actions.
Don't get me wrong, I can play with a keyboard and I can do it fairly well but I like to lean back in my chair while I play and I'm mostly on skype during events so I only need to use my keyboard for quick G-key macros. I find it much better on my back and hands to play with a controller.

Those new spell icons look pretty cool.
I also wonder if that guard adjustment will actually make it level.

A staff that uses all the elemental staves to create? I wonder what that could be like. All the hidden effects of the staves in one? If so, do want.
