Like the topic said lol, where are all the bards, atlesst the ones with harp & ghorn, with carnwenhan at? I have yet to see anyone on my server with it. Just wanted to see what other bards out there use gearwise for the weaponskill Mordant Rime.

You need to be a really hardcore bard to be wanting to spend so much resources on this dagger. Although it would be nice to see bards casting long duration songs and actually fight instead of standing around like mannequins.

There was a brd on Ifrit, not sure if he still plays. Had Ghorn and Carn back in the day. Is it really worth it just for the extra duration? Honestly, I would not think so.

Only if you love bard just that much and have a bad *** melee DD build to go with it. Even then though I can't see it being worth the time and gil needed for it.

Tossed this together as a base set (haven't mathed anything yet).

augments:
dagger:str/att
head da/chr/att
hands:dagger skill
legs:acc I suppose
feet:str/att

Af3+2 hands/feet would be better if you were capping fstr.

Pieces that might have potential:
str+5 dagger skill +5 ring.

Pretty sure +2 relic doesn't lower stats as far as I know. Think heca +1 legs and hat depending on augments too.

I'd never looked at Carnwenhan as a DD weapon, Mandau seemed like it had so many more redeeming qualities over it paired with Exenterator. I think it would probably come down to what you're fighting, though. I haven't done any official testing between the two WSs, but the more I've been using it lately, Mordant Rime actually hits some pretty high numbers, occasionally spiking a lot higher than Exenterator, but not consistently. It never did anything impressive on higher level mobs from what I've done though, Exenterator always has it beat. But then again I don't have a 30% DMG boost from Carnwenhan. :P

Going along with both comments, Dawnsoul Ring looks like a pretty good option over Rajas after capping fSTR.

I also remember discussing Mordant Rime builds awhile back and Cuchulain's Belt was the best option, but this was before Wanion Belt came out, so I'm not entirely sure how it compares to that. I'm also curious about Delta Earring but I'm almost pretty sure Ghillie Earring +1 has it beat.

Besides that your build looked pretty solid, not sure about the neck, Love Torque seemed like a more attractive option than sea gorget but idk.

Letti (Odin) Has GHorn99 Harp99 and Carnw99 and at least 4/5 HQ Iaso gear all augmented.

We just recently finished her 150 PW for afterglow. Though I rarely see her melee on her bard lol.

I thought the thread was "Where all the camwhores at?" Needless to say, I was disappointed.

It's still cool... just not AS cool.

I'm pretty sure she did it after the Zeni-patch, casue I usually see her in Whitegate area alot. She farms her own Zeni and kills the ZNM on her own. We just kill the PWs for her as a LS. I think she bought some of the items from other people too.

I wish I had that kind of cash flow when I still played >.<

Afterglow trial for mythics is actually "not that bad," comparatively speaking.

It's easier than creating a base mythic, anyway.
