I was kind of hoping they would bring other DDs up to par with DRK SAM before they discussed making DRK any stronger.
You sure seem to think you know everything, when in reality you dont have a clue how the job will work. All they said its a magic defenced based tank vs the physical like pld. Guess youve never seen an aegis then since that pretty much makes magic tickle.

i'm thinking sword. with the way 2 handers work now, would they give a tank job a 2hander as its primary?

I'm thinking a new class of greatswords. Similar to how COR got their own class of guns(hexaguns), Rune Fencers will probably get a specialized class of either sword or greatswords that enhance magic related things. Going with Great Sword since no job has A+ in it, and Swords are done to death with PLD RDM BLU.
Play-as-a-monster has potential if the system has real depth to it.
Cointeach -> Dvergyr -> Pandemonium Warden Cointeach -> Dvergyr -> Fjalar It all depends on what the game clock is when you evolve! A PvP system that won't suck does sound intriguing
