Kali's Death Log:Things Betwixt
Death 1: Died to giant rat thing before witches.
Death 2: tried fighting it with my new sword :3
Death 3: ^ :x
Death 4: Failed the jumping test...
Death 5: Failed the jumping BACK test xD
Death 6: ^... x.x
Death 7: Died to Twin Ogres guarding Boat
Death 8: ^...
Death 9: Killed one, Died to the other
Death 10: Died to second Ogre
Death 11: Killed second Ogre, Went for revenge for the one at the start.
Death 12: Died to the ogre again, HP getting to be about 50%.
Death 13: Died to the ogre for the last time, but killed it afterwards.
Heide's Tower of Flame
Death 14: Died to the Giant with a big sword ;_;
Death 15: Killed the Giant with a sword, but then swiftly died to the one with the club by falling off the edge into the water.
Death 16-19: Okay, area too difficult :) picked up a human effigy to restore my HP and left.
Forest of Fallen Giants
Death 20: Died to a long swordsman but the area seems more reasonable.
Heide's Tower of Flame
Death 21: Wanted to give this place a few more tries.
Death 22: And I'm backing out again, a room with 3 >_>

Is there like a new thing where you cannot farm enemies anymore? I was trying to farm some souls at the bonfire in Forest of Fallen Giants and now the enemies aren't respawning....
I should note I was farming souls to upgrade a weapon.

I should note I was farming souls to upgrade a weapon. They do respawn, but! I noticed that after you get to a certain point some enemies don't come back.
This might be to alleviate traveling to make it less tedious, even though we can basically warp to bonfires lol

Haha I was getting a little pissed and decided to invade someone else and ruin their day and I beat them lol. My first time doing any Demon/Dark Souls PvP

All of the achievements in Dark Souls are easy to get. Just takes a little time. 2 1/2 playthroughs at most if you collect all the boss souls. Usually 3 to be safe.
Also, best weapon is subjective based on your style and stats.
Play the game yourself. Don't ask someone to essentially do all the work for you.

The aura effects from item buffs are just as annoying, if not more annoying.
The new engine is cool, but I must say, I think I prefer DS1's engine. It was more... idk.
Anyways it's nothing major to complain about, DS has never been about graphics. Some things improved while other things became a bit weaker.

There is a hidden door right where the 3 ambush you before the stairs. I opened it by accident, not sure how I managed it, but it's right at the base of the stairs. The wall is kinda obvious once you look at it. I didn't notice if there was a prompt or not.

I survived as well however I failed to find what you did. Also not a mage so not going back lol
Nooooooo. I survived all the enemies but I was so low on hp the fall dmg killed me and now I can't get back inside it seems. >.> STUPID!!!!

Wooooh I found a cool shortcut!
When you're on that bridge thing before the ambush section, there is that guy that throws firebombs on top where that big knight boss thing appeared once. If you get him to throw a bomb at the stairs where the black barrels are, he'll blow the wall up which leads directly to the 2nd bonfire!
Also wow first boss I come across 1 shots me from full health. Ya cause that's fair.

OKAY... I've died 5 times to this boss, but I have to say 1 thing!!!
TEARING OFF HIS OWN ARM AT 50% TO USE IT AS A WEAPON...
They make the best monster / boss designs & mechanics ><

So far imo this game is much more difficult than DS1. After 1 rushed playthrough I can get through almost all of DS1 now without dying at all. In DS2 im dying to pretty much every other pack of small enemies.... the lack of healing / health isnt helping.

My thoughts on the boss:
The first boss (well, I think you actually have a special encounter of another one but I jumped off the roof and it never came back) is The Last Giant
Very simple fight, very similar to the Tower Knight in Demon's Souls without the shield, and kinda looks like the Bed of Chaos but n obviously not. You can target 3 portions of the body, which is the same as the Tower Knight, so yay for Demon's Souls mechanics implementations!
Very simple fight but very punishing if you rush or don't dodge/block. There might be more mechanics of the fight I don't know about since you can target the chest but I just Two-Handed my morning star and attacked the feets!
Overall very enjoyable boss fight, and very satisfying defeating it, like a Dark Souls boss should feel like :)

Death 34-35: Exploring the first part of the fortress.
Death 36-42: Fighting The Last Giant boss
Death 43-49: Exploring the two other areas of The Forest of Fallen Gaints, found the NPC Cale, found the boss The Pursuer, and found another bonfire deeper in. I actually ended up losing the 11k souls I earned from killing the boss The Last Giant (sad), so I farmed the 11k back at this bonfire. I still have to fight the Pursuer, doing that next. Also noteworthy, I beat The Last Giant with my morning star, without any upgrades. I have now gone back to Majula and upgraded it to +4.

ps3 Farming souls in the Tower of Flame now that I stopped repeatedly dying to the giants with the great swords ._. Been in here long enough that they're starting to not respawn anymore, lol.

The first stops respawning once you reach the 3 in the giant room. Or at least kill the one with the great sword.
