haste,fastcast - song casting
It's been a few years since I've played just came back to the game and I'm just trying to jog my memory. Haste, fastcast and -songcast all have to be equipped precast for them to take effect right? After the song/spell is started you can swap it all out and you still get the fastcast and get the recast timers down still.

Fast Cast/Song, yes
Haste has to be on at the end of the cast Phoenix.Kirana

fast cast must also be on midcast IF you want the recast reduction from it.

So while you'll get the cast time reduction by having it on when you start casting the spell, it needs to stay on if you want the recast reduction from it.

maybe its just me being an idiot, but for clarification, i want fastcast in my precast set, and midcast, but then -song delay in final set?

Only songs I see a need for - delay gear at times is Scherzo, Lullaby and Finale and even those are debatable and dependent on the conditions.
so when people talk about midcast, they are referring to when the song completes?
