Kraken Club -- How Much?

Whats a reasonable selling price for a K.club these days? I know it used to be around 40m but now I see them in bazaars for anywhere from 70m - 90m. Are people really buying them for that much now?

90m kclub is lol, you could pretty much make another relic for that price. Kclub's ONLY use is for annihilator ranger, and annihilator rng's aren't exactly common.

So whats a reasonable selling price then? 40m? 60m? 75m?

It's probably the most needlessly expensive item ever at about 70~90m. Your price estimation was right. It was maybe, kind of worth it when it had more uses, but now it's just complete utility for a couple of jobs.

90mil while being a little insane, considering the price of a relic used to be over twice that and now you could get both for the price of what a relic used to cost (at least by the prices on Bahamut, currently compared to a few years ago) it's not bad to get both, but still. I'm going to assume since the demand hasn't really gone up any the supply has shot to near 0, anyone even do that BCNM anymore?

Im guessing with the increase in price of Phalanx & Utsusemi:Ni people are choosing to use their seals there. Also beastman seals aren't as common with people choosing to burn their jobs 30-90 in abyssea. Could be why.

This "XX item is only for XX job of you fail" mentality is ridiculous, offhanding a kraken is the most fun u can have on any job really (dual wielding jobs the most fun).

I love doing whm/nin (or dnc) or rdm with offhand kraken, GL killing a whm/dnc with the nyzul WS lol, plz think out of the box somjetimes and enjoy the game, this isnt always of "but XX job does 1 more dps than this so i must play it of i fail!".

Not if you have the relic weapon(s) you want, but don't have a Kclub. For example, in my case, all relic weapons are worth exactly 0gil to me.

Probably because if you used your brain you'd realize:

90m for a fun screw around toy that is almost useless in every situation imaginable unless you have an annihilator and don't suck at rng.

or

90m for almost an entire relic, that increases your dmg by an insane amount and makes your job extremely better and much much stronger.

Oh relics aren't useful for you? Let's turn on the brain again shall we?!

90m could be put into upgrading your 90 emp to 99, or begin working on your mythic, or a plethora of other things.

I have had kraken clubs off and on over the years. Used mostly at 75 cap when I kc/rng birds for merits. It had other uses such as campaign etc but I agree it was just a fun toy for the most part. Though shoving personal views on what someone wants to spend their gil on is just as silly. As if 90M is hard to obtain now. Can easily make that inside a week. Not that I am going to give you a guide on how to do it.

Point being if they want a kraken club have at it. It is very fun to use even if not practical in most settings.

i think your overthinking this, all people are trying to say is there are better things to spend your gil on.

200m for upgrading Twashtar? Yeah, sure. When DNC becomes relevant to any content again, I'll do that. (probably never).

800m for a mythic? Terpsichore is pretty mediocre and that's really the only job I melee on.

I don't want a Kclub either, because I also don't have really even have any jobs on which to play with it, so it's also worth 0gil to me.

Regardless, if you're willing to pay 80mil for a Kclub, you're obviously not hurting in the gil-making department, so if you wanted another relic/whatever, you'd just make one.

Maybe you should turn on your brain? (I know it's nearly impossible for you to do this, but yeah).

Not if you have no interest in those things. Example: Someone only has WHM, has made Mjollnir.

It's bad enough that I'm half-*** making a Mjollnir to annoy my friends instead of upgrading Twashtar.

I dont understand why you only mention "kraken and annihilator or bust", i've done namis as whm/dnc with a friend and we did just fine, i've done all old content (i know, ***is not relevent lol) as battlemage WHM (or rdm) and its a nice change, and the KC helps u in many ways.

For me right now, there are a few relics that are worth making and their sidegrades are so close, i'd think it 10 times be4 wasting 125-150 mills plus marrows (unless u are one of those that do relics to collect em), im not saying they bad (not even close), some of them are the best you can get in the slot (namely aegis, yoichi/anni, amano, mandau) but its the fun you have with XX job that matters.

Thanks on the heads up sylow with dagan, i always thought it was HP recover but with some MP in the mix, could have its uses yeah, the nyzul WS gives like 500-700 (dual wielding) so this one could be used as a part of recovery on both hp/mp when i got multiple mobs on me.

people seem to forget, it doesn't matter why.

how many ppl vs server population you know that carry 100m? of those ppl whom really care how they spend their gil? they have found niche to make gil.

i found there are three type of players. each player will agrue to the death with each other and can never see eye to eye because they have never been in that person shoes.

1. who have found the niche. i.e will spend their money how they want.
2. who are looking for the niche. i.e ppl who cant see ever paying for a "trophy" item like kclub or relic.
3. who are not looking for a niche. player who find it difficult enough to create a emp.


what matter is if they can afford it and feel validated to purchase it. its a game. validation can come from any thing. if it is epeen what does it matter? to that person when you have that much gil with ways the replenish it, spending on anything like kclub or relic wont matter. you've completed a feasible goal with your available resources.


there is more ways to make gil in this economy than there ever was. 2005 inflation was nice but its not the same. during inflation everything was just high in price so farming gave you a nice Return on investment.

as for kclub, given how rare the supply is vs high the demand since player have more gil readily available. kclubs will sell at prices that vary.

By today's standards i can see how a kclub will still sell at 40-90m. Player who are that fortunate to be wealthy dont have must gil taken away from npcs, have less stuff to spend gil on gear and a ***loads of ways to generate gil.

Please go on about how awesome your melee WHM is in neo-nyzul, legion, and VW.

they do actually still sell for over 65 mil. Its a toy, a fun toy, and people with nothing left to spend gil on (mostly jp's who finished the relics they wanted already) are more than willing to pay.
