Apparently it is some kind of glitch that causes it to only work when it is written one way. I looked on the AH and these items are up with the non-functional version selling for like 1 mil less.

I just tried again and get 2 groups of teleporting fast snake-people-things. I can't even kite them effectively because of that stupid invisibility thing they do.

I remember back on D2 act bosses on nightmare did drop good stuff for high levels, and Hell was'nt really needed when it came to farming (was better, but alot harder)
Is it still like this? Or just aim for 60 and use what I can find up until that point, and then farm\slowly work my way though inferno?
My strategy hasn't been for farming items, it's been farming gold to get the items off the AH (the most effective and least likely way to get me to kill someone). Act III Hell is about 200k~300k per run (takes about 30m~1h) if you do only the right zones + Azmodan.
So in short, yes, if you do it with a different mindset.
My farming strat at the moment is to load up the quest before the warden in act 1 inferno. By the time you get to the butcher you should have 5 neph valor. I get ~50k gold per run just from drops and selling junk to NPCs. I also swap in a full set of MF+ right before killing bosses/elites.
Hmmm, been looking at getting a new weapon because my 400 dps xbox is starting to show its limit in act2 hell... but not sure what to go for.. low 900/high 800 dps weapon or a low 800/high 700 dps weapon that has 300-600 hp per hit on it..
i just want to know if the hp a hit procs on rapid fire. and if the trade of of lets say 400 hp per shot is worth dropping 100 dps.. level 56ish btw

the reason i ask is because I'm not having a hard time finding a weapon with those dps ranges >.> i have my eye on a handful around those ranged, question I'm asking is which should i try to get to hold me over til i ding 60. lower dps but with hp/hit or just go for straight dps

This is my strategy, and seems to be the most common.
Gotten 800+ DPS Xbow that sold for 1.2m (when high DPS weapons were more scarce on the AH), and several other items that sell for 400k+. Very lucrative run. Additionally "Exalted Sovereign" items made from the Blacksmith are quite profitable too, 5 affixes and if you get "resist all" on any of those slots you could probably sell it for 500k-2m (50k synth, but will take several runs to get the mats for it).
Edit: unfortunately the "Exalted Sovereign" recipes are mostly made from plans and not leveled up recipes, which are very rare drops and are not currently sold on the AH.

Man i wish there was a demon hunter calculator out there, how do you calculate VIT? i want to see if this 214 vit 300hp/hit is worth it over a 114 vit 415hp/hit or even a 0 vit 630hp/hit

Edit: I just realized how stupid I am. Weapons can have reduced level requirement. Forget what I said, go ahead and grab a nice one if you have the money for it.

Just search for weapons that include the lower level requirement trait. my friend had a 800+dps crossbow on his DH from level 46 on, it was bananas.

How does HP per hit affect spells, if at all? I don't think I ever had a weapon with it on it.

you get a certain percentage for certain abilities... you would have to search it up... all i know is most single target attacks will give 100% of what you have hp/hit.
Good gravy was looking it up found out that life steal has a 80% decrease in inferno gross.
Also looking up items that have decent health on hit for me and ugh, nothing great for under like 10 mil @_@
My weapon right now has like 750 damage I but like 60% crit damage omnom and I payed like 45k for it :3

I've snatched up a couple of good deals.
Got a 400 damage bow level 47 for 5k >:3 (think it was supposed to be 50k) and a level 52 450 damage crossbow with a butt *** amount of +DEX for 25k earlier tonight.

If you ever want good deals just find out when I am selling my stuff lol. I usually sell for pretty cheap just to get it gone and to at least get more than I would from NPCs.
My current weapon is a ~800 dps spear with int/vit. I had 35k damage rating on inventory screen, but that went down to 31k when I replaced some of my IAS for reasons stated earlier.

I usually do this too. Mainly because I never remember how much I paid for it or if I got it off a drop... so most of my stuff goes up for 5k! Unless it is awesome and I know it is. Had an amulet with +60 dex and 10% attack speed from like level 20 something that I recently sold for 75k.

Just got attacked again. Think it's the second time in about 2 weeks. This time it was my low level Demon Hunter. All my equipment, inventory, and gold were lost. Once again though, my shared stash and other characters appear to be untouched. For some reason, I can't seem to pull up Blizzard's support page.
