Here's mine:
As soon as the second hint came out, everyone knew right away that she meant Uleguerand Range, there was no doubt about it. It all came down to a matter of speed! A few of us immediately took off for the voidwatch warp just outside the city walls - a few started casting Teleport-Vahzl and realized their mistake :( they had already lost.
I zoned in as the third person, and immediately buffed up with my sneaky spells and 'zurka - shoom! Off I go! Immediately I took the lead, dodging what I could and outrunning what I couldn't! I knew I was making fast time, I had navigated this route many many times, so I never had to worry about falling down a hole. Imagine my surprise though! Halfway up the pass, I see other invisible players running at my side! The dancer I could understand, but how was the WHM/BLM going so fast!? No matter, I dismissed it, he probably had a pocket bard helping him out too, a lot of players teamed up for this event.
It got really intense then, the 3 of us were neck and neck, and I knew more would be coming up behind. I pulled in the lead again, the buffs had needed to be recast, but oh! We were coming in to the last stretch, and of course, I finally aggro'd something I couldn't dare to outrun - that accursed Taurus right at the base of the ramp to Jormungand! He always gets me >:( I couldn't afford to ignore him, he links really fast demons, I was sure to lose...
Thankfully Jormy himself came to my rescue! I was able to pull the Taur to the ramp without linking anything else, and slept him. Man I love being bard sometimes. Didn't have time to reapply my sneaky spells, I just stuck on 'zurka again and hoped for the best! By this time a few more players had passed me, and had aggro'd the eyeballs floating in my way. But the clincher was, I guess nobody expected Jormy himself to be guarding the exit! He was killing people left and right! (well, okay, I only saw two). Sneaking past, I was once again in second place!
Neck-and-neck with Phaffi and Goto a little behind, we ran alongside the top of the slope, spamming /target Bayohne as fast as we could! I didn't see her at a glance with the first, western ledge, and took a chance for the other one. And there she was, tucked back in a little corner right at the edge, farthest you could go. She was really close to falling! But we saved her ;) We each got a rose, and congratulated each other on being the winners!
