I got the million gil (think that was rank 3), no real system, just made sure all my characters had 0-9 as the first digit like everyone else had, and no duplicate numbers from one char to the next (like no first two being the same, first 3 etc.)
Won on a mule. No clue at all what the number was, it's been a while lol. Friend had 2 digits reversed for the 100 million last year. He was pretty pissed ^^

Had a buddy who won rank 3, not sure if he picked random or numbers of his choosing. He took the Hauteclaire for his prize (pld main) so he was pretty psyched.

I had the last four of the grand prize last year... and given the way the explained it at first I was all woot 2nd place... then they were like btw now that the numbers are out wed like to say we made this as HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE as possible and made a different number for each prize... so your 2nd place is actually a 0 place hahahha

I won 2 rank two last year. One of my main character and one on my mule. I picked the number that was picked for rank two. I'm hoping to have the same luck this year. =)

Ya, I thought that, too. I thought they'd just draw a number (like a real lottery) and depending on what matched to that, you won. Can't complain, I won a mil, but yeah, I remember a few grumbles...
I am very slightly irritated that the marbles are 2k this year...10k for the statue was reasonable to me as a consolation prize, 20k not so much. Better then nothing, though, and at least it's not another exp scroll that I can't even use on the mules cause it's level 20 lol

I pick some numbers i like, and then about 4 or so random numbers. I won an xp scroll on main and 1/2 mules. it sucked.
